Wanted to start a diary to show my plant's progress. I started them in soil on 2-24-08 after they germinated. I'm waiting on 6 42w CFL's to come in the mail.
looks good. what does the outside of it look like? Is it stealth? Also where did you get the CFL's from and at what price?
Those CFLS should hold up for some time of vegging try to keep them 1-2 inches from the top of the plant so they dont stretch
thanks for the advice, I figured I'd wait until I saw some sprouting to put them so close. The one's I ordered were from 1000bulbs dot com. I am getting 3 full spectrum and 3 2700k. Attatched is a picture of the grow box
Looked at my plants today and saw some had sprouted. Pictures follow. Any advice on a water schedule? Just stick my finger in the soil?
made a couple improvements on the box today. I put the fans under the insulating matieral so that it would draw more air in. I also added an exhaust to the other side. The sprouts are hardy at this point. All four have come up well. Two came out with good pictures I'm thinking about buying a 400w HPS system for the flowering stage. These are going to have to be compact, short plants so I plan on flowering them relatively early. Any tips on this will help...I know that keeping the bulbs close to the plants will help.
so at this point the plants are looking a little sick. The leaves are droopy and some have discolored leaves (light green). Any help would be appreciated. I have been waiting for the water at root level to be somewhat dry before watering them, generally around every three days.
I read after I planted them that using nuted soil was bad for sprouts. Right now there in some sort of organic mix. The humidity is 20% and the temp stays around 80 degrees. I water them every 3 days or so depending on how the soil feels at root level.
the browing lookings like burning from the lights and the yellow looks like nute burn. did you start in miracle grow soil? just change your soil and keep air moving over the top of your plants. good luck
