Discussion in 'Cannabis & Weed Edibles: Cooking & Recipes' started by sm0kedgrass22, Nov 12, 2010.

  1. okay so i just made some fire crackers and i used melted butter (for the fat) and skippy peanut butter on saltine crackers. i hade some regs layin around so i put about .5 - .6 grams in each cracker. i have a picture of one, and i wanted to know if it looks rite.

btw i had the oven on 320*F for 23 minutes exactly.

  2. If the cracker is brown from heat, and it looks like the butter sizzled up the bud, you did well! Good job. Next time try decarboxylating the reggie beforehand.

  3. how long should i decarboxylate it? around 15 seconds is what i was thinking...

  4. I decarboxylate a gram of scissor-cut bud for about a minute and a half, to a minute 45.

The best way to do it is this:

Cut it up into small amounts, but still should be able to crumble after you microwave. If it crumbles, it smells like bud, and the plate you used to hold the bud is HOT, then it's ready. Dont be afraid of losing THC during the microwave, because it's only heating the bud enough to evaporate terpenes and the CO and OH keeping your THC as THC-a.

So for about two grams, I'd say microwave for about 2 minutes. Depends on your microwave and the amount of bud. Always microwave on a glass container because the glass will absorb the heat and in turn decarbs the bud. If the bud comes out of the microwave smelling dank (stinking the kitchen a bit too) and crumbling in your fingertips, its been decarboxylated.

More efficient then a firecracker would be just frying the decarboxylated bud in an oil or butter, till browned.

  5. When you microwave your bud aren't you burning off THC?

  6. Nope. Not if you do it correctly.

When you reach the right temperature in the microwave, obviously cannabinoids can vaporize. This only happens after a long period of time in the microwave.
