Hey guys, this is my first ever grow, i'm chosing to do it outdoors, non guerilla for vegging, but mid way through flowering i think they will have to move elsewhere. The strains i'm growing are both auto-flowering, which were bought from seedsman.com. Auto-Flowering Ak-47 Lowryder #2 The soil i've used is a mix of yates organic fertilizer, some peat moss (for moisture retaining), and some generic potting mix as the base. Seeds were put in paper towels two days ago, and today i think all but 1 has shown a white root tip, in which i've now put them all in individual pots. Will post pics as progress continues, and i do welcome any tips and advice. Am an Aussie too.
Very nice, you're off to a good start with those fine genetics! Good luck man, hope you craft some fine plants...
figured i'd stop being lazy and post some pics from a couple weeks ago. its actually been quite sad because we lost all but 3 of our plants (we only now have 1 lowryder and 2 ak's). Although it has been a very good learning process and now i'm thinking of buying some more seeds (non auto flowers) and giving them a go. Can anyone suggest a seedbank and maybe some strains? I'm really interested in trying some DNA Kushberry, and maybe one of Barneys farm varieties. While i'm waiting for the pics to upload, i'll tell you the main problem i had. Ended up putting far too much fertiliser in the original soil mix, and it burn't the majority of the plants, so i have a theory, that the 3 that are left must be really strong plants, and very nutrient resistant. So i'm going to farm one of the plants for seeds, then smoke the other. Pretty sure that the lowryder is a male, whilst the 2 Ak's are female. Crossing lowryder #2 with auto Ak should be fine right? Cheers guys
well checked today and they had all grown quite alot, the lowryder has started to bud quite vigorously and i expect it would be finished probably by the end of the month. turns out i was wrong about it being male, i guess i got blessed with 3 girls Can anyone offer any advice on how a barneys farm vanilla kush would do in the aussie land?
Got any pics of your grow at the moment? Would be great to see the seeds popping up of your newbies. Hope you are getting some of the SUN.
sun has been great past few days, new pics will be tomorrow when i go see them. and forecast for next week is pretty solid for my area
Here we go....some photo updates!!! in order AK47 smaller one lowryder Ak47 big mother fucker. 2 pics of each how do they look? give me some insight/advice
can anyone suggest some sort of yates (or other readily available at supermarkets) fertiliser that i could use? i'd prefer sloluable and organic if possible. been using charlie carp but it just has such low phosphorous, i'd prefer to use something higher. I could always go out to the farm and grab a bag of super phosphate...mix some of that into the top soil....any ideas?
went and gave them some organic yates nutes last night, but i came to find that lowryder had fallen over, and was on a slight slope. pronounced dead
Terrible news man, the lowrider was looking quite spectacular... hope your other girl is still going strong! As for the fertiliser issue, Richgro do a good fertiliser called Premium Potato And Vegetable Fertiliser, which we have always called 'potato manure' for some reason. Upon looking at the packet, it has 5.6% phosphorus and 4.0% nitrogen, I'm going to use some myself I think. I'll let you know how it goes
How's the weather in your part of the world? Nice and SUNNY here today. Your plants would be eating up the sunshine I can only imagine.
had awesome sun today, yesterday was shitty but the afternoon was fine, havent checked the guys in a few days, will head out tonight, left them longer than i generally do because i started working full time this week. hopefully they are thriving
sad news, i went away over chrissie/new years and my mate didnt water for me...now they are all dried out . but hopefully i'll be starting some new ones this week.
Devooooo... It's all good man, the Summer still has another month or so left in it though the solstice is over... you should be able to get away with sneaking a few plants in anyhow, especially if they're of the autoflowering variety. Good luck with the next batch man
Managed to get some Mr nice seeds, i'll be planting tomorrow. This time growing in my backyard so hopefully i'll have some success, and i can see them everyday . In Photo: I'll be using probably a 80% potting mix, and 20% peat moss to start the seeds in, then when i pot them out i'll use a bit more peat.
You are going to love the Mr. Nice Keep them getting at least 4 hrs direct light and you will have a fairly good crop come April. Will keep an eye on this for ya!
