This is my first attempt at growing, I read a lot and the threads on this forum have been really helpful. Everything seems to be going good other than a gnat problem that seems to now be getting better. I'm in a 2'x4' area, growing in soil with a 400w HPS. I have the area very crowded with 10 plants, but I tried to keep each canopy small enough to fill in the entire space, kind of a SCROG setup. I've kept the temp at a stable 77f. and the humidity at 50%. I probably have another month before harvest. I have a question. I would like to experiment a bit and harvest a little bud when the trichomes are a little milky and the rest when it turns amber. I've heard you get a more sativa effect when the comes are more clear than amber. Does anyone know more about this?
All I did was read "The best of Ask Ed" about 5 times cover to cover along with Jorge Cervantes book and DVD which I transferred to my Ipod. I would always keep one of the book next to the toilet and had my ipod on at work for a few hours a day, eventually I started almost memorizing the stuff. When I got the chance to apply what I had learned to my grow room it was fun and worth the hard work. I made a lot of mistakes, but I recognize them and can correct them with the next crop. By the way the darker plants are OG kush and the lighter plants are Hindu Skunk.
