First Coco Grow DNA chocolope, skywalker, Romberry, XJ-13

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by RevFarms, Sep 27, 2010.

  1. Hi, I've been growing for the past 8 months. I started off with soil then hydro. This is going to be my first grow with coco.

    Current Seedling Setup:
    4 24" T5 tubes
Grow Media: half coco (canna)half perlite.
Nutes: Canna Coco, root exelurator, great white, cal mag, multi zen
    C02 enriched with 4" c02 green pad

I originally started this grow with just a 6pack of DNA chocolope seeds. Out of those six, five germinated. I have enough room in my flowering space for 9 fairly large and tall plants so I went clone hunting and found some romberry, skywalker, xj-13. I'm going to take cuttings from all the plants a week before I start flowering. Posted pic was from today. Chocolopes on the left. Chocolopes are 11 days old from planting.

Plants are on 20-4 light schedule
Watered on a by need basis. Usually when the tops of coco are dry.
6.0 ph nutes but run off is at 5.6. Hopefully adjusts after a few waterings?

Plan on flowering after the plants reach the height of 2ft

Transplanted my plants today. I lost one of my xj13. So now, I have 9 in total. 1 gallon pots. Bottom layer of hydroton for max drainage. I mixed coco with perlite for the potting mixture. Forgot to add calmag to my initial watering but I think it shouldnbe okay because I added calmag in my coco flushing solution before planting. 1000ppm total yesterday with 6.0ph. Added 2 co2 pads in grow space since I noticed that it wasn't as perky as normal.

Pics 15 days as of today

Watered today with nutes. Looking really good! Toped plants with more than 4nodes. Sprayed with neem oil

  6. Im doing a coco grow myself! looking really good man...if you dont mind me asking did you buy a bag of coir or did you get bricks and rinse it? I tested my runoff on my coir the other day just to see where I was at...it went in the medium at 5.9 but was coming out at 7.0....I thought a little strange...but I am guessing my lime has not kicked in yet since its pellitized...but i suppose I can deal with it and I will test again next watering...I will be sure to follow close...because this coco shit rocks

  7. Hey! Glad to meet another coco enthusiast. I use canna coco that comes in a bag. When I rinsed the coco initially, my run off was at about 20ppm. I tried to ensure that my runoff was as close to 6.0ph before I potted it.

Today, I watered it 6.0 and my run off is at about 5.7-5.9.

I definitely see a huge difference from growing in rockwool. Plants really thrive happily in coco.

  8. Flushed my babes today. My nutes were at 300ppm and around 6.0ph. My nutes included calmag and a flushing solution. I flushed my plants until the runoff was at below 600ppm. They all sagged quite a bit except for my super skywalker! I raised my lights up about 3in. Tomorrow they'll officially be 3 weeks old. Will post pics then.

  9. when do you plan on flowering? another 2 weeks or so?

  10. Also, I noticed that their stalks are getting fatter. I'm going to buy a caliper this weekend so I can start measuring girth.

  11. I'm going to flower them when they reach 18 inches. I plan on topping them one more time as well.

This is skywalker. It was topped about a week ago and the branches just took over :)

This is Romberry. It's a really beautiful plant with super thin leaves. Hella delicate. But for a sativa, it's very tolerant of a healthy amount of fertz

My xj13 is super sensitive to nutes. I think I'm going to half it's intake startle next feeding. All my plants are growing really well and free of disease. The roots at the bottom are getting air pruned by the hydroton and the drain holes. But the roots that are visible are healthy, furry and extremely white.
I'll probably wait another two weeks to flower these to get max yield. Btw, the chocolope isn't feminized.

Until next time... Feel free to comment all!!!!

  14. Thanks Man! I was just reading your Vanila Kush journal. I'm glad to find someone into Canna! Everyone seem to only want to grow with Adv Nutes... I'm really not impressed. Actually, I wasted too much money on them. Shit.

  15. BTW i dont use canna feeds just the medium Canna Coco which is a first for me..

    My setup is

    400w mixed spectrum hps
    Canna Coco:D
    18ltr Pot
Advanced Feeds G.E.T. THE POWER "Growing Edge Technologies" Then Some sort of Boost and Molasses

Canna Coco is so great that you should join the canna coco group its in my sig aha i just made the group and made 3 topics for yous to get started on aha bet no one even joins lol i just wanna talk about different setups while using canna coco..

Advanced nutes is really good if ya get it right and well im lucky i guess no ph pens or whatever aha first time using Advanced nutes as i usually use Ionics products so im watching my vk flowering stage really carefully... and well since i started adding the advanced nutes she's really took off in the flower production.. like under a week:rolleyes:

I'm still new but i like to try new things.. and ill be using canna coco from now on i have my own reasons... its just crazy shit:hello::hello::hello:

Just quickly before I forget. Watered the chocolopes today. They seem extremely thirsty. I'm going to transplant all my plants to 3gal pots on Wednesday (they'll be 30 days old from seed).

Tonight, (if I don't get too stoned) I'm reconfiguring my veg space. I'll make sure to post it this evening :).

I'm excited to flower these pups. I still have a batch of jack herers and og kush in my flowering room.. By the time I harvest these, my chocolopes will probably at the 2.5ft range. I'm not too worried about the stretch because my cabinet can accommodate up to 8 ft.

    Til later

  17. 28 days. Topped the hell out of the plants today. Not only did I top my main stem, I topped the side ones as well. I should have a crap load of main colas.

I still haven't moved my cabinet yet. Any project takes me a month. Tis a byproduct of being stoned all the time. I am really doing that today though. No more pot til it's done.
