So I just got my first 4 clones ever, and want to grow them up in a closet that is in my living room of my apartment. I have read on this site that a 250 watt light should work for them, but do i need to mount some 12 inch flourescents along the side? Also, i have a normal rotating fan to put in there, but i need to know what I might need to ventilate. The walls are white but i will probably buy some of that mylar sheeting. If anybody could let me know what I really need to get for these first week and a half that would be great, i have the money to buy a few things. THanks

Are these clones already rooted? Are they in Soil, Hydro? Basically I'd read the forums for awhile. There are tons of post covering every stage of growing.
They are just starting to take root, when i pull up on them lightly I get resistance. They are growing in soil, and have just started to grow branches lower under the main top canopy. I have been reading a bunch of stuff here, and the information is all extremely valuable. What im having a hard time finding is the necessities that I will need for these first two weeks or so. I know I need light, water, and dirt, but what im really trying to nail down is the absolute necessities. I have a closet that I can use, spacious and clean, and I can put some lights and a fan in there, but what type of lights would be cheap, and would show some results? Also, I have them in some 4 inch deep plastic containers, and I cant seem to find the a figure or sugestion for when I should transplant, and what size container I should transplant into. So far, Ive been placing them in direct sunlight during the day, and putting them under a 60 watt lamp that I have in my living room during the night. Should i be concerned about temperature? YOU MUST LIVE LIKE A HERMIT, YOUR GOING TO GROW,in a closet in your living, room????? i could never do that here, and be '' stealthy'' about it, sometimes its like ''grandcentral'' around here!!!!!!
Not really a hermit, but I have a quiet apartment complex with only 3 other apartments, 2 groups of old people and 1 small family, so its really not a place that I bring alot of people anyways. Definitely not a party house. Any suggestions anybody?
For the short term you can just keep them under some proper lighting. Compact fluorescents would probably work well for you at this stage since it would keep the heat down so ventilation wouldn't be an issue. Keep them warm and make sure you don't over water. HPS is better used in the flower stages though I know some people use them through out. As for adding more light, it's hard to have to much. My grow cab is less that 5 sqft (36"x18") and I have 421 watts of fluorescent lighting in there. I'll probably be upping that with a 250w HPS soon. Your plants should be fine in the pots you have now for awhile. Long term, good soil and the biggest pots you can manage. With four plants the biggest pots I can fit are 1.5 gallons (8") but it's not uncommon for soil growers with more space to use 5 gallon buckets. Bigger buckets = bigger plants. For designing your space this is a great Forum but you'll want to read through the other ones for growing advice.
Awesome, thanks, thats mostly what I was looking for. I just didnt think of it that way. Was thinking grow room design when I wrote the post. That advice pretty much sums up the questions I had for this spot im in. Ill come back to this board when I start blowing up the closet Thanks again
