First 2 Grows

  1. I found this forum and decided it would be the best place to get help in my journey on growing two of my first seeds. these are seeds i got for free from the 5 seeds i actually bought, so they’re for me to learn, but i still want to make the best out of it. (auto flowers) I germinated them by placing one in a cup of water for 24hrs and then directly into 3 gal (fox farm OF and HF ) with a bit of perlite. And the second one was 24 hrs in cup and then 24 hrs in paper towel then into soil.

i would keep the light cycle at 18/6. i would keep a cup on top off them until they sprouted to create high humidity. once they sprouted, i would take it off every once in a while for fresh air.

I recently took off the plastic cup i would keep on top of them because i believe they have entered the seedling stage. But i have a feeling i over watered cause i’ve been researching and i’m thinking that’s what it is, cause the first plant’s cotelydon leaf is drooping down. and i also believe it could have something to do with my humidity levels? they be ranging from 45%-70%

    any help would be appreciated!!

  2. They need like a tablespoon daily to every other day slow pour at plants base. So water goes to roots not spread out over soil. Depending how long the dome is on maybe longer. Dome holds moisture generally with seedlings that's enough since their roots aren't deep. Wanna water roots early not soil. Autos imo aren't for learning. If over watered they'll be stunted which will hinder growth and final yield. I just had a run of autos that started flowering at day 26. Which means they need to be healthy from seed in order to have the best outcome. Photoperiods you need a light change in order for them to flower meaning if you over water or over feed or run into a deficiency that may take a bit to correct that's okay photos will remain in veg no harm no faul until you can take a healthy plant into flower. Good luck bud

Starting autos in small pots help from overwatering. Transplant day 21

  3. appreciate the help! and yeah i heard that as well, that autos aren’t good for learning, i had bought photoperiod seeds, i got 3 autos for free, just wanted to do a test run with them. i appreciate the help tho! thank you! i added a humidity dome again(with lid with vents, even tho not shown in photo) to see if that can help with the humidity. which i mean it did cause it shows 85% with the probe.

will just wait and see with the watering as well, im slowing down on that.

  4. Lift pots if you feel any weight at all dont water. At this size pot shouldnt have weight yet. Water again when very light, rather that takes 3 days or a week. If pot has been over watered to the point were bottom of pot is wet theres no roots there, that will stay wet and hold weight for a while. That in itself could stunt plant. If pot doesn't dry and plant spudders in growth after a couple weeks I'd transplant into dry dirt and give minimal water at plants base. When dirts dry roots stretch out looking for water. This is very important early on to develop a established root system. When I have to water 2ce in one day I'll give more water starting at that tbls.

  5. Their probably not over watered tho, honesty I'm high and didn't see the white pot their sitting in thought you watered a 3 or 5 gallon.

Oh cuz they weren't in them in those first pics that's humidity domes hot damn I need another one aye.

  6. hahaha, yeah i started them in there final pot which was a 3 gal. i have believe i over watered but not to much to the point where the bottom of the pot is wet to the touch. but still i will not be watering them until i see signs. and the white plastic tray was from a humidity dome, i cut the bottom of it off so i have enough space to put the cap with the vents for air. for a higher RH. cause my tent was reading an average of 45% and inside of the humidity done it’s 80%

  7. In a dome just make sure your light is cut down or far enough back. If light is too intense with plants in a dome they'll damp off. I have a florescent and a blurple I'll use domes under after sprouting, if I start in flower tent I remove dome as soon as they sprout. Since its more intense. Same when placing outdoors if in sun no dome same will happen

  8. You should have started them in smaller pots.........maintaining the proper moisture level in those large pots will be a challenge.

  9. I only started using the dome again to create a higher humidity for it, it’s been a couple hours since i’ve done it and it looks a bit better. i think? what do you recommend MORE, a humidifier or dehumidifier for later stages?

  10. Yeah i know, next ones (photperiod) will be started in smaller pots, and transplanted as needed. These were autos and i heard it was better to start in final pots. but i always thought i can manage not over watering. i guessed wrong :/ lol, but i think they’re coming back and should bounce back the next couple of hours, i’ll keep y’all updated !

  11. well patience is the key to growing things happen at a snails pace at this point in the game just let them grow and stop messing with them they will be fine

  12. Humidifier/dehumidifier depends on your environment. Then that becomes however you want to grow. High humidity starting out grown in 55-60% flower at 50% or less. My outdoor plants grow and flower in low humidity ( 7% rh ), indoor stays perfect. Either way works.

  13. Doubt humidity is a problem. I've been growing in low humidity for a long time.
