Finishing First Grow

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by HolySmokez, Aug 31, 2019.

  1. Well, we are approaching week 7 now and are going to begin flushing the plants. Our first grow. Multiple strains, which is why every plant looks a little different lol. We did lots of pruning, defoliation and even cloning and now have at least 10 healthy clones for next cycle. I wanted to post a video to see what you guys think of it, particularly pruning. There is still a good amount of fan leaves on the main colas, etc. Do you guys normally remove those or keep them? We took off so many already up to week 3 of flower and then stopped. Everything I have read and seen says to leave them alone after week 5-6. Does it look like they need more off? I know, camera quality is not great lol.

  2. i think you should only take fan leafs when there blocking a top from getting light. fan leafs are extremely important and are vital when you "flush" them fan leafs have been storing nutrients which they take from when you "flush" its a natural process which is important because your letting the plant finish on its own supply if you keep taking fan leafs during the "flush" the plant will start to use the sugar leafs nutrients which will turn sugar leafs yellow and that will creep into the buds resulting in yellow markings in the bud leafs always save enough fan leafs to finish with they also help keep the plant healthy overall :)

  3. I think so too, glad someone else feels the same way. Ive seen some people take them all off and I feel like if the plant grows it, it must need it. But im always willing to learn if I can be proved wrong.
