Hey Grasscity memebers, I was more active on Breedbay years ago, now they seem to be off line. It has been a while since I have shared any grows but, once a seed from the vault pops, I will show some of the progression. How long do seeds last? That is a question that I ask myself every time I purchase one I think has been sitting on the shelves, a conclusion I come to from monitoring sales, or, if I purchased one and not knowing how long it will be viable. Long story short. Let’s find out! ✌
Welcome to Grasscity..... Lots of good info...and people on here! I've seen and heard of seeds popping years later...sometimes with a "little extra help"
Thanks for the welcome kronik352. Besides scuffing. I have not changed the traditional soak and sometimes napkin blankets. But, I have heard of sterilizing and using sugars to encourage... I haven’t gotten to that point yet. What methods would you recommend for ten year old seeds. Not stored in a refrigerator but, in sealed original containers. What’s growing in your neck of the woods?
I saved some seeds in the early seventies. I gave them to a friend about five years ago. He grew some killer weed. YMMV?
I personally don't know of any methods to use for old seeds....i don't buy in bulk....so the seeds I buy usually ALWAYS get planted before the 365 day mark of me getting them. I currently have some White Widow Autoflowers going in my grow room. You can check out my grow journal on one of them if you want.....ILGM - White Widow Auto
