I'm going to run by my grow through you guys and hopefully ya'll can give me some suggestions on how to properly vent/cool/environmentally control my place as well as other suggestions you have for the grow. I've been reading quite a bit ( like 12 hours a day for a month now haha) but still feel like I'm not 100% there on it, so please mind my ignorance if you notice some . As of now I have quite a bit of an idea of the products I'll be using, so my idea is to just run it all by you and see if I'm missing a few things. I'm pretty happy that within the last few days after a ton of deliberation my partner and I have decided to downsize our initial grow-op in order to a) make sure our mother strains and phenos we are growing are perfect b) dial in the system and c) make sure we don't waste a ton of money on a big-bang first attempt without trial errors! So without further adieu this is our plan for now... Okay so I'm going to break it down into All Products, Veg Room design, and finally Flower Room design. Thanks in advance, I appreciate the help of the experts here! All Products 1 X AeroFlo2 36 site + screen (starting with one 36 site, going to add another 36 site for second harvest if we dial it in by then). Best deal I've found here. 1 X 1000W Lumatek Ballast w/Hortilux Super HPS bulb + Adjust-A-Wing reflector. Package here 2 X t5 6 lamp CFLs. On MJBoy's site here. 10 X 3 gallon grow bags + a few bags of FFOF. 1 x Ez-Clone 30 site Panda film for covering walls and separating veg/flower room 1 X Holmes Patton 18" 3-speed fan (strong industrial fan I already have, probably going to be sufficient for a circulating fan in the flower room until I add my 2nd 36 site and 2nd 1000w) 4 x standard 4" or 6" oscillating fans to hang up around both rooms 1 x Can-Fan 8" w/carbon can filter for odor in flower room 1 x Can-Fan 4" w/ carbon can filter for odor in veg room (not sure if this is necessary) 1 x AC Unit (it's my roommates, I don't know the BTUs but he said its pretty big and estimated between 8k-12k, so we will be running this only in peak summer temperatures most likely) I was thinking about getting an industrial blower and possibly a dehumidifier but I'm pretty unsure about the air circulation system so any help with that is gratefully appreciated. We also plan on getting one of those all in one controllers but we're currently shopping around. I really like the Green Air MicroClimate Controller (MCC-1) b/c its super easy to read and proven as a great product and gotten rave reviews + has room for using Co2 in the future which we're definitely interested in, but I'm not so sure that I need that as opposed to something more than half the price like this Sentinel EVC-2 for $250. I don't know exactly which electrical products I'm going to need or if I missed anything, but I will update this thread the more I have this planned out... Rough estimated cost for all of these products is around $4000 right now with a ton of great deals I've found online. Veg Room Size: Estimating it to be 4x6. I also have a grow box that my partner is already using which can fit about 4 mothering plants, so I won't need such a big space for my veg area as I thought. The veg room will be constructed by looping a piece of panda film over a 2x4 plywood mounted on the ceiling and separating it from the flower room by a double sided panda film lightproof curtain. Hopefully my handy friend who is building the rooms with us will be able to get it so that we have a few zipper doors for each room in order to comfortably maneuver between rooms. Lighting: 2 X 6-light CFL trays ( Commercial T5 6 Tube Fixture [FLT46] - $175.51 : SoCAL Hydroponics.com - Best online store for Hydroponics, Hydroponics Equipement Online ). I might add more CFLs if I need, I'm trying to avoid running HID in both areas. Ventilation: Probably going to run a 4" CAN-Fan and a few oscillating cooling/exhaust fans or something. We will adjust this room for temps/humidity, but since it won't be too big I think we'll be okay with two small fans and a 4 or 6" CAN-Fan inline fan w/carbon filter for smell. Like I said, I'm going to need some assistance with the air circulation part. Medium/Nutrients/Pots: I'm going to be using Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil for my mothers/plants I end up flowering from seed and an EZ-Clone 30 site for my clones. I plan on having about 10 x 5 gallon bags and the EZ-Clone in my veg room at all times. Remember, I also have a small grow box that can veg about 4 mothers at all times as well, so the veg room doesn't need to be huge IMO. I don't know which nutrients I'm running for soil yet, I'll probably check with W.W.M. for that one Flower Room Size and Construction: Esimated size right now is about 10' x 12' area, possibly a little smaller depending on how big we're going to build the veg/grow room, but the space we have to work with in the bedroom we're using upstairs is immense and will be a minimum of 90 sq.ft. and max. of 130 or so. Will be built using ceiling mounts and panda film. Obviously we're going to try and make sure its fully sealed b/c we want to be able to control the grow room temps/humidity level as much as possible since we'll be doing our own ventilation. All-in-one controller (as mentioned above in products) will be used to manage all of the timing of the lights, pumps, fans, A/C unit, CO2 in future, and whatever else need be timed such as a dehumidifier. Going to be using a SCRoG method w/ the 36 site AeroFlo2. We will be adding both an extra 1000W lumatek ballast + adjust-a-wing set up (above in products) and 36 site AeroFlo2 when we get things dialed in. Ideally, when we get on track we'll be yielding one 36 site every 4 weeks on a perpetual harvest. Nutrient line will either be Advanced Nutrients 2+ Sensi Bloom full line or Lucas Formula using the FloraNova products (suggestions please?) I think anything else I say at this point would be repetitive so I'll leave it at that because any product I didn't use in the veg room is obviously being used in the flowering room . Oh yeah, in case it wasn't clear this is all going to be done in ONE LARGE BEDROOM upstairs in a house in a central coastal city in CA with a caregivers card + patients card posted on the wall of the growroom. We will be yielding for medicinal purposes and selling our overages (ideally -- if they exist ) to local dispensaries.
