  1. Hey guys, so as you may or may not know, Final Fantasy XIII has been released today.

I just got it from the store, I'm not too far in but so far it seems like a pretty good game, only thing is that there arent really towns i dont think and the game seems like a whole predetermined map instead of free roam like my old favorites, (FF7, FF8, FF10) and such.

Anyone else get FFXIII? lets discuss, im going to play now and get a little further.

  2. I got it!:)

I like the battle system, fast paced which keeps you entertained.

  3. It feels very linear so far but I'm hoping once everything progresses and the tutorials end it will pick up. At the moment i just got through the Ice area and have saved in front of some large temple steps.

  4. I might get it but I pre-ordered God Of War 3 which comes out next week and i doubt i would beat it before then.

  5. Finally got my copy in the mail yesterday. I heard it's linear until you get to Pulse.

  6. Just bought it tonight, went out for a little bit earlier, now I'm at home hittin' the bong and playing it. Not bad at all.. I like how they scrapped the FF12 battle system and put the ones from 6, 7, 8, and 9 in. ATB or whatever.
So far, the music and scenery looks great too.. ill comment more when I've played more.

  7. i got it too. i think they did a pretty good job on the game. the graphics are siick

  8. versus is gonna kick so much ass

  9. I'm nearing the end of the game, it is pretty fun. Bosses are easy, fucking enemies are pain most of the time though.

  10. so i decided to pick this up yesterday when i picked up my God of War III...im not very far but its a good game so far....BTW go out and get God of War III if you like the first two...this one is AMAZING

I'm only about 3 hours in, but I'm loving it already. Looking forward to the battle difficulty to increase though, and for paradigm shift to actually become useful.

Am I the only one who wishes SE would go back to letting you roam the world on your own, and controlling all 3 party characters instead of just 1? Some of my best FF memories are getting pissed off because I was all the way on the left side of the world map, when I needed to be all the way on the right. Can't do that when the game just determines the route for you.

  12. I'm on chapter seven or so now.. really enjoying it so far, but I do hate how linear it is up to this point. The battle system is addicting once you get a hang of it with good timing on the paradigm shifts. I've had a few problems with enemies, having to restart the battles and sometimes go kill more enemies to get CP and components to upgrade.
Great looking and sounding game that's really fun to play too. I'm enjoying it, although I wish there was more exploration.

  13. Around the same point as you, the only boss I had a problem on was Odin, then I realized what I was doing wrong and beat him the second time around.

  14. this game is sick. around chapter 11 you get to free roam and do missions. its a nice change :)

  15. I got that game the day it was released. I'm a huge FF fan.

I just hit chapter 11 last night myself, the paradigm switching is a nice twist on the classic battle system. The graphics are top notch as well.

The game was very linear up until chapter 11, but its kind of weird, now that its wide open I feel lost, I know I have the yellow arrow to show where to go but its hard to resist just running in random directions to check out the scenery.

  16. How many hours does everyone have on it?
And do any 360 owners find it annoying to have 3 discs?

  17. I've got 5 hours so far! :D

And no, I don't really find it all that annoying to have 3 disks. I was already used to swapping disks for lots of good games back in the day: FF7, 8, 9, and Xenogears. It doesn't really pose a problem at all
