   I had a thought that maybe it would be beneficial to root development to fim or top my clones (before taking them from the mother) much in the same way that fimming and topping aid in lower node development. does anyone have any opinions on this?

   I would top after you get the clones rooted. just my thought. But your theroy sounds cool why not try it on one plant and see if it survives?
