  1. hey yall.
well, saw some plants outgrow the others and wanted to keep them the same size.
was wondering if anyone has experience using the FIM technique in the flower phase?
do you wait until it has its grow spirt about two weeks in or do you do it before?
do you notice any adverse effects from doing this?
some say not to cut the plant when put into flower because itll shock them and can cause hermie but not sure and figure you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes, especially when the plant has such a spirt of growth
any feedback would be greatly appriciated thanks city

shes in a completly different type of growth pattern now

    falling to senescence

if you do ... post back ..lol

  3. on a particular strain think its the only way. guess only way is to try on two; one on first day, second on second week when taller

  4. Why ask a question and when a seasoned grower tells you not to do it, and then you are just gonna do it anyway? If you do, all you are doing is cutting bud sites. And will reduce your yield. But, experiment away. It you want to keep one plant at the same level as southern. Supercropping or LST.

  5. well actually took it more like do it so you can see what happens lol. you're right hardheaded but thats the way to learn. supercrop is too much space. someone mentioned LST on another post and thought that was the way to go so gonna give that a try as well

  6. oh. thought that was LST, when you bend it enough to your desire but not enough to break it. and thought supercrop was the same but just bending all the nodes that get passed a certain point to another side

  7. You might break the branch off supercropping. You can pinch the tip off a big head. It will stop the height almost completely but the but will grow a fat top as the top bud sites finish without the centre.

  8. yes this is what had stated before. wouldnt this essentially be FIM? do you have any exerience with this or have ever tried? if you have can you go into more detail?
like have you done this before the pistils come out when the growth spurt happens or way before?

  9. You would do it later in flower as a last resort to stop an unexpected height problem.

  10. okay cool thanks for your input

  11. If you tip the tallest buds you will have to do it to everything that gets to that height. You should tip at the same max height you want finish. Can we have pics

  12. You might like to see this vid i just found on utube

  13. not in the process at the moment so cant do pics just something noticed
thanks for that vid thats exactly what looking for
lmao, "and you can eat that, which is what just did" , now thats funny great vid

  14. You will want to learn the supercropping method as doing any removal of the tops during flowering will greatly reduce production.

  15. in no way saying you're wrong and plenty will back you up in that argument, but have you personally ever done experiments with this side by side?
the above video the guy says otherwise. not saying he is correct either just saying.

if production stayed the same would just top to keep it simple, but would love first hand knowledge just to learn and talk about it if you have had with that subject

  16. Id have to say I am sorry for being up front about sounding like I am telling you what to do.

That video is interesting, and I have never seen that done before. Extremely cringe worthy when he cut the top of that bud though, LOL! I am surprised by the amount of positive feedback to that video, and can't knock it until you try it on this one. He did state that he wasn't sure on if it would increase the yield of the plant but he was firm on believing that it would round the buds out more and make them more worthy of viewing/smoking.

The only thing with a test run of this is he also recommends doing the "topping" to all of the buds on the plant. So maybe 2 plants of the same strain with 1 being topped and the other left alone. Good luck!

  17. no worries all here to learn. have to say was the same when he cut that top off but laughed when he was like, and you can just eat it, like just did! not something one would do if didnt have to. but good to know that its a possibility.would think this would degrade end product
