Ok, two of my plants have deficiencies, one I believe was magnesium def(faster growing one) and one I think was manganese def from too much magnesium(slower), two different phenos, both Acapulco gold. Anyways, I flushed with 3gal of water each, 5gal pots and then ran nutes backdown ( following fox farm schedule expect I'm using hydro grow big) how do I know if I fixed the problem? I feel like my bottom leaves are still yellowing, will they suddenly turn green, or loose the brown spots?
This is one thing I cannot find on the internet.
Also, I believe I may have a ph problem but my liquid test only goes down to 6 (ph below 6 only matters for my bubble cloner and i can't tell the colors sometimes.
The runoff is showing 6 or lower but my test could be wrong. And I only have ph down but my tap is like 7.2

  2. Flush with more water, and don't drop below 6.2 for soil, or you start locking things out again. It does take time for the plant to heal, sometimes the damaged leaves never change back. If the leaf is over 50% damaged pull it off. Otherwise, watch the new growth. If it is coming in good ( and the issues at the lower end of the plant aren't getting worse) then you are just fine.

  3. Thank you!!
I retested my soil since I haven't after I flushed and it seems to be back to 6.3~
I try so hard to remember which leaves are infected and which aren't lol.
How much water should I flush with, I read somewhere that 3x your normal watering amount and somewhere else said 3x the size of your pot. Irk which one :( how much should I flushb

  4. 3 times the amount of soil. If you have 5 gallons of soil you would flush with 15 gallons of water.

 okay. That's a lot of water tho lol. Luckily I don't pay for that.
What about adding nutrients after the flush? 3/4 normal strength right after or 3 days later when the soil drys?
Also, since I'm using such a large amount of water to flush, can I do rather quickly? Like have a flood in there? Or should I pour, let it drain, pour let it drain and so on?

Most advice says to re-nute with 1/4 to 1/2 strength. Yup it's a lot of water, but if you have salts built up then that's what it takes to clear em.

I had to flush once, I would not use chlorinated tap water to flush.

Essentially you would run the 3 times amount of water and then while soil is still wet add your nutes back like a typical feed except half to quarter strength. If you wait for it to dry out the 3 or 4 days, that's 3 or 4 days she is living with no food as you just washed it all out.

I just poured water til it was like an inch up the stalk, as soon as the water was sucked into the soil I would repeat until 3 times as much water as soil has been run through.

  7. awesome, thanks for all your help!
