i remember coming across this on yahoo. Its insane, thanks for posting it, i had completey forgot about it. i would love to visit one of those places
Varosha is my favorite by far. It's a damn beachside resort on the Mediterranean. Cyprus is a really interesting place, Greeks in the south and Turks in the north with a dead zone in the middle. The capital of Nicosia is crazy, here's pics of some of its abandoned areas- the only people allowed in here are UN troops and occasionally people like whoever took these pictures People left in 1974 and their stuff is still untouched
always been very fasinated by abandoned places, i would love nothing more than to spend days wandering them imagining what life was like and the people who lived in these abandoned places.
This is "the flats", east of Virginia City, Nevada. It used to be an old silver refinery until it was shut down int the 70s. Almost every square inch is covered with graffitti and there are a few of my own throw ups as well. Also scraped my hand once something awful there too. Not my picture.
Cool post, OP! I'd love to explore some of these places. I looked up Centralia on the map, part of my clan lives pretty close to it. Mohave county, AZ has many ghost towns to see. Cool place to really embrace nature and the isolation of the desert.
