Festers Pink Diesel x Amnesia Autos from The Vault Seeds

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by FesterNewt, Nov 9, 2014.

  1. Welcome to my first grow journal!

I'm growing some automatic pink diesel x amnesia that I got from The Vault Cannabis Seeds Store.

    These are bred by Seedsman.

I have a 36x20x60 inch tent, and a 125 watt cfl. Timer set for 18/6. Growing in a mix of 50% dirt 50% perlite.

    I also have 4 26w cfl's that add about 100w additional lighting.

Everyone is welcome to pull up a chair and lurk, or comment and share!

I will mainly focus on the Pink Diesel, but I do have an Auto Purple that is in flower, 2 Alien Diesel Berry and 4 Quin n Tonic that are all seedlings.

Here is a pic to start off with of the auto purple from last week. I have to wait until the lights come back on to take pics to kick off the journal.

  2.
    Welcome, Kent!

My 125w is one big bulb. I'm growing in dirt, that will be a good comparison to yours. I was also planning on adding a 250w but probably won't happen this grow. My tent is actually too small for two fixtures....should've gone with the 24" deep tent, too late now

  3. Here's some purple porn

I like the way the purple looks like it's been brushed onto the leaves. These are from today right after the lights came on.

  4. And here are the 4 Quin-N-Tonic which is Harlequin x Cannatonic BX. Indica

And the 2 Alien Diesel Berry which is Sour Diesel x Alien Bubba Berry. Indica.

    Sorry for the crappy pics

  5. So, on to the Pink Diesel x Amnesia seeds that I won from one of The Vault Cannabis Seeds Store's many free seed competitions here on Grass City.

I germinated 5 seeds and so far had my best germination rate from any other seed bank that I've used.

I germinated 5 seeds and I have 4 seedlings, so far. The 5th one is mutated or something, but seems to be growing, so I'm hoping it will make it. It's that little stick looking thing in one of the pics. I'm not ready to give up on it yet!

Again, sorry for the pics, they are blurry.

The last seed to pop is actually the biggest of the 5 already....gonna keep my eye on this one. I don't usually name my plants, but I'm naming this one Billy Bad-Ass :ey:

If you are a beginner, or new to buying seeds, let me tell you how I germinate my seeds. I soak them in tap water for 24 hours, then in a wet paper towel in a warm spot until they sprout; usually a couple of days. Then I plant the seeds that sprouted directly into soil. Anything that hasn't sprouted goes back into the paper towel for at most a day or two. If nothing happens I plant them in small planters, but I don't forget or neglect them. I keep the soil moist and don't give up on them. Sometimes it takes quite a while for them to come up. I've gotten many extra plants this way that could have easily be discarded as waste had I assumed they wouldn't grow.

So they are very small now and I plan to update at least weekly on the pics

  6. Subbed and rated! Lets see how green that thumb is! :smoke:

  7.
Thanks, man! I'm gonna need that green thumb to pull this off.....too much crammed in a small space. I may have to use my old cabinet again.

  8. Where theres a will theres a way, but you never know, those ladies get huge quickly :smoke:

  9. So here are some pics of my lights.

The 125 watt cfl 6400k and I also have another 2700k bulb for this fixture.

and the setup that I got on ebay for $21 delivered. It's a cheapie, but it works. It came with 4 bulbs, 3 splitters and the power cord with a hanger and on off switch. I seriously doubt if I could have found this stuff locally for that price. It's 2700k spectrum, so I have it above the flowering purple auto for now. I plan on getting some 6400k bulbs for it soon.

I made a hood for it out of an aluminum disposable roasting pan from a dollar store, lol.

I had to add more lighting because these cfl's have to be slammed down so low to your plants that they don't have much of a light footprint.

There is definitely a sweet spot  on these big cfl bulbs...dead center on the length of the bulb, which further limits the foot print. I move my seedlings around frequently so they have equal time in that spot. Once you start raising the light this becomes less of a problem.

I did notice that the leaves can actually touch the 125w long bulb with no ill effect, but the small spiral bulbs will scorch a leaf quickly. I'm not sure why they run hotter, but probably because the are tightly swirled where as the 125w is elongated and the tubes don't really touch each other.

  10. Nutrients.....everyone has to start somewhere. Since this is supposed to be a budget grow, and I'm not accustomed to having to use them, I went for cheap and simple. I usually grow in my vegetable garden that has great soil, and I don't ever fertilize.

This go box was pretty cheap and has a variety of products. Simple instructions easy to read mix chart. I was under the impression that this was an organic product, but some disagree. It says that you should use after mix right away, but I don't usually use a gallon at a time. Then it starts to smell like a rotting fish tank! lol but it still seems to work well.

I don't start with these neuts at half strength....full strength when I start using them, just a little at a time at first. They don't seem to mind and respond nicely to them. Once it a while I will use plain water to feed.

  11. Sweet pics. What's the name of the strain with the heavy purple leaves? Pink diesel?

  12.
Thanks! That purple is simply called Auto Purple, it's an Afgan Purple x Ruderalis. No need for low temps to get the purple to come out.

In fact, my temps are pretty steady between 73 and 83, so it must be genetics.

Stick around, the pink diesels are up and running!

  13. That's awesome. I gotta find me some of that

  14. Yeah general hydroponics is a nice brand. ive had great results in hydro with their products.

  15. I'm using general hydroponics with coco and it's working great

  16. Nice! Im about to pop one of these in with my WW's!
Ive subbed dude, wanna see how you get on, peeace!

  17.
    Great! The pink diesel?
