Was wondering if anyone has heard of/used/seen Jobe's Fertilizer Spikes http://www.epinions.com/content_33141264004 for picture and info is it fine to use? bad? etc. And also when abouts should i start fertilizing, i read 24 hours after you have put them in soil is a good time, but i don't want to over fertilize or anything. No and no. Fertilizer spikes are "time released", which means you are not in control of the amount being applied. Could burn your plants. Young seedlings are too tender to take ferts right away, wait until about two weeks after they have sprouted, and then only use 1/4 strength or less then build up slowly.
so just use like miracle gro fert? -- think it's ok that i put those spikes in for about 2 hours? just now took them out after reading your post
