Hey guys. My girls(fingers-crossed) are 14 days old. I'm thinking their looking like girls, what do you guys think? And yes, I know my stems are red and they need nutrients. Starting nutes tomorrow.
14 days is too early to sex even if you're on an 18/6 light scedule. all that is, is new growth. Are you using 18/6 or 24/0? If you're on 24/0 its likely you wont see preflowers, and wont be able to sex until about a week into flower. Hope this helps
Shoot.. Ya i am on 24/0. I guess I'm going to have to use a paper bag or something... WHat do you people usually use?
To early sex. Instead of changing lights to 12/12, just cover a lower branch with a paper bag and if its kept dark should show gender.
I suppose that would work. I've never heard that one before. I suppose the hard part is to make sure you put it on and take it off at the exact same time every day. I always just wait till day 6 or so of 12/12. I generally end up between 75 and 85% female with non fem seeds in 3 grows so far so that number could go up or down...
if you are doing 24/0 you wont see pre flowers -somebody lied to you- i run cfl veg 24/7, and when plant gets big enough it will show you its sex. paper bag thing could work, but could hermie your plant. just plan your sh*T ahead. you can always take a clone and flower it. or you can just wait.
