Feeling Bummed Out

Discussion in 'Real Life Stories' started by Borborygmus, Sep 9, 2012.

  1. Hey guys, a little bg info. My parent know I smoke, and are pretty cool with it. They worry about what will happen if I do it too much. I have a decent job and am enjoying life and getting high most nights after work.

So today my parents tell me one of my dad's friends has basically become a bum. Gets high all day, hasn't had a job for 6 months and is now broke. He's asking my dad to get him a job, but my dad tells him he has to change some things in his life, starting with quitting pot.

I am just worried now.I don't want to end up like him. Is pot really THAT great, or am I just lying to myself. It is literally a 180 degree shift from yesterday, when I hadn't a worry in the world about my smoking.

I am also tired, hungover today though so that might have something to do with it. Anyways, have you guys ever felt like this? What did you do, and how did it turn out. Maybe some stories about some succeccful stoners would help. If I still feel like this in a couple days it'll be time for a tbreak I guess.

  3. Weed is awesome man and if anyone ever tells you otherwise you can tell them to fuck right off.. Your dad's friend is a lazy ass and that doesn't mean that you are? If you really think weed is going to drag you down then you should set your standards and goals higher.. Dont smoke until you accomplish a certain goal, know what I mean?

  4. most people just fear things they don't understand, how do they know he just lost his way in life due to a plant? could be so many other factors in your parents story.

your not a bum/loser/drag just because you smoke, your life doesn't revolve around the green and sitting around all day so your just like most of us.

me personally i'm a weekend toker,
weekdays is for handling business but the weekends are mine.
I study, I work, I go the gym, I socialize
    never a problem

    feel better
    xx

  5. what the fuck..

have YOU noticed any negative changes due to smoking?

have YOU dropped in doing things you need to do due to smoking?

can YOU see yourself doing anything to fuck up your future by smoking?

    if not continue to smoke..

there are cases of dumbass people no matter what you look at.. some people dont kno when to stop eating and they weigh 300 pounds.. that dont mean everyone should stop eating..

think for yourself.. this is your life.. if you feel weed is effecting you negatively then its your choice whether to stop or not..

dont let your parents scare you out of smoking

  6. Lol true enough.

And my parents were not at all trying to scare me. Just talking about what's up with people. This is all me in my head.

  7. I agree that it's not because of weed he ended up like this. Clearly has some issues before weed, but weed enabled him imo. He was always high, and its easy when your high to put on some Bob Marley and let your worries melt away. Definitely a good thing sometimes, but not always obviously.

How many people could honestly be sober and not do anything all day, and watch your bank account drain. I couldn't. I wouldn't let myself do that getting high either though. So I guess I could stop worrying.

But, one more thing. When I started smoking weed a few years back, I was misinformed, and believed it was a once in a while thing. Soon it became a weekedn thing, then a, some weekdays and the weekend. Now, it's every evening after I'm done work.

  8. Do what makes you happy man. If you think you might end up a bum like your dads friend, then make sure you quit smoking if you ever do lose your job. I just recently quit the ganj 2 months ago because I realized the dumb decisions I made during my 2 years of non stop blunt sessions. I started after my mom and dad split up and got lost in the cycle. I noticed her drug abuse and alcohol problems when she moved back in where I was living with my gmom and realized I needed some change in my life. It feels good being thc free, and marijuana cultivation still interests me to the fullest. One day I plan on smoking again but not soon. I should be focused on job searching and improving my life more. To each their own, dont let it get you down. And always remember theres a time and place for everything. It does become a little much smoking an average 3-4 blunts daily. It is in fact a drug dispite what anyone says. I hope that helps a bit

  9. There are two people in the world: the ones that try and the ones that don't. Personally speaking, smoking doesn't effect either for me. I am a everyday smoker but I am still a functioning person because I want to be. I work, go to school, and am successful in both but there are some things which I could careless about, and thats my choice. I may not want to clean my desk for a week or two or ever but smoking doesn't effect my choice on doing it.

Yeah there are some people out there who don't give a shit and don't try. They still probably wouldn't give a shit if they were or weren't smoking. Its all a factor of self interperation and goals.

Its up to you what you decide to do.
