Ok, so here is the situation: I grew up in New Zealand where buds are VERY easy to get a hold of, now I live in central Europe where it takes several weeks to get even a lousy gram (even then its like half a gram). I've smoked a painful 3 sessions in the year I have been here. Every time I did score it had some seeds in it, the first 2 times i thought "meh" occasionally you get some, But as it became obvious that scoring is such a biatch I took upon myself to nurture these seeds But then i came across another problem, the money here is next to worthless (a monthly wage here equals a weeks wages back home). Pure necessity and desperation has led me to this: 1x 15w CFL (6500k) 800 lumens for vegging, I have 1x 23w CFL (2700k) 1570 lumens ready for flowering. Growing medium: soil brought from a supermarket White peat Black peat Drained sand it has been chalk deacidified (if i translate this crap right) NPK 12:11:18 +Mg & Fe,Mn,Zn,B,S pH range 5.5-6.5 I put seeds straight into soil on the window sill, they poked their wee heads through the soil 6 and 7 days after planting (theres 2 plants by the way). They spent 2 and a half weeks on the window sill before my landlord starting asking about my "herbarium" then I pulled a bit of cash together for a whorey as hell set up in an F#@$ed up corner/ walk-in closet that was blocked up with shelves and sh!t. After one hell of a day rearranging furniture and moving all the crap out of the way. This set up is far from ideal and the area isn't finished yet! it is important that this is known so no arrogant d!cks start getting abusive and throwing names around. again due to the worthlessness of money here EVERYTHING is very expensive I had to use wrapping paper with the decorative side against the wall for reflection and i could only get one of each of the CFL's i needed, next payday I will be getting more lights and fixtures and more stuff to fully enclose the growing area which is currently sharing the space with all my work stuff As of today it has been 3 weeks since my babies poked their heads above soil, its the second day in the semi finished grow area, the first day was 18/6 today is 19/5 and tomorrow i will set it to 20/4. The plan for now is to give an extra hour every day over the next few days until it spends 2 days at 24/0 then I will be reducing everything by half an hour per day until it gets to the crucial 12/12 which I plan to keep at a constant throughout the flowering. As for nutrients I'm experimenting with some organic homemade compounds. I think thats enough jabbering for now, please noobs or pros alike comments, advice, or feedback; anything and i will share the rest of my plan and other stuff related to my set up first three photos of the first days after growing out of the soil, shit quality photos from my phone second five photos are of the weeks on the window sill again poor quality from my phone all the rest are from digital camera today
Bit of nute burn there not to bad, stretching also but they are lovely and green ,they need separate pots, I won't mention the obvious ha, nice one on the grow though(more light) Sent from my GT-I8190N using Grasscity Forum mobile app
yeah what he said ^^^ they look pretty damn good especially considering your situation. Get that light as close a possible and get into separate pots ASAP. The wrapping paper thing is a trick for doing mylar on the cheap... get it the week after Xmas at a wicked steal. Don't feed them that fertilizer until like week 3 at least and when you do cut the manufacturers recommendation by at least a half. No need to fuck with the light schedule like that... just put em on 18/6 or 20/4 until they preflower then flip em to 12/12. Most Europeans I have read go for the shorter cycle because I guess electric is like crazy expensive there or something. Adding more light as you get more money is perfect... at this stage they are in I only use 96W for 4 plants
the stretching happened when they were under sunlight on the window sill, then we had like 5 over cast days and was pissing me off. My issue with electricity is that its all generated from coal here. i'm working on builiding a wee wind generator purely for keeping my babies lighted and heated (getting a heat pad for when winter comes around because it gets fucking cold here. As for the nut burn that stumped me a bit because i havnt fed it anything but distilled water (that i get for free), I'll be giving them their first nutrient rich watering this weekend "get into separate pots ASAP" when the soil drys a bit i will put into the only other pot i have lying around (that blue bucket was expensive like everything else here) tu meke for comments boys
If your soil was pre fertilized it can sometimes be "too hot" for seedlings... Same thing happened to me with my first round of babies so now I just plant them in peat, EWC, and vermiculite. It gets cold here during the winter too... I can't wait til I can turn my AC off and let the lights warm the room instead of using the baseboard heater. We have wind farms in our county but I am not sure how much of my power comes from that... other than that I am pretty sure it is all "clean coal"... what a joke.
hard out jonny, its just as illegal here to have your own wind turbine as it is to have buddha plants. i gathered the nute burn was from the high amounts of ferts already in the soil, my missus told me earlier today that its been a month since they popped up and i did notice they havnt grown much over the past three days so i added my home made fertilizer with calcium (the only nutrient missing from the soil i brought), fingers crossed this doesnt get fucked up, i cant afford it.
The nute burn thing, is it possible that the leaf with the brown tip was touching the soil when plant was smaller, could have done it Sent from my GT-I8190N using Grasscity Forum mobile app
definately not, they were tall as when they popped out of the ground, i think it was just from having f@#%ed up nutrient ratios, i think im having a bit of magnesium deficiency today
