Well, THAT is just plain old Fucked Up!

I met Elvy and she is a very frail, all but blind, elderly lady (older than me! ). She looks like a strong breeze could knock her over!

And Elvy IS perfectly and federally legal- the cops shouldn't be able to touch her! And harassing her is like the cops going after YOUR sick grandmother!

    SHAME ON THEM!

    THIS MUST STOP!

I want you dudes to think of your grandmothers as you read this-

Nieves reports Musikka was detained for over an hour in a squad car as the trooper did not believe Musikka's federal paperwork entitling her to possess and use her federally-produced medical marijuana anywhere in the United States.

She gave them her proof and they said it was a lie! What they did to Elvy (leaving her over an hour in a car) is abuse of a disabled senior! How hot is it where you live? What would happen to you if you left your DOG in a car for an hour? Think you'd get busted for animal cruelty?

Patients on the scene recorded the encounter on video, which has been seized by the state police.

Can't have the police caught on tape acting like Gestapo and manhandling blind little old ladies, I guess.

"In a land that's known as freedom
How can such a thing be fair?"

  6. I've always been non-confrontational and passive when it comes to dealing with things that make me angry but read this makes me want to punch someone in the face. These cops seem to have been taking orders from the Federal level. The same federal level that allows this woman to legally smoke marijuana wherever she wants.

She's just a nice old lady that smokes marijuana. Fuck off.

  7. Elvy has been interviewed about the incident on the Normal podcast- They talked about it for over an hour. Haven't heard it yet.

  8. I don't even know what I'd do if that happened to grandma, I'd be so pissed that's messed up.

  9. What has the Gov. got to say about State Troopers being ordered around by the Feds? This is total crap.

  10. Wait, I thought the supreme court made a ruling on the legality of citizens filming police officers that are on duty... bode well for oregon cops, this does not.

  11. can I get an explanation as to how she is federally permitted to smoke?

  12. It started from a Glucoma patient that proved it helped him medically. Thank Bush 1 for closing the program to new applicants (yeah, actually why the heck does anyone vote Rep. they get all in our lives, contrary to their rhetoric). Anywho, here is a nice starting point; :smoke:

Who are the patients receiving medical marijuana through the federal government's Compassionate IND program? - Medical Marijuana - ProCon.org

  13. I'm not entirely sure of the details but it is along these lines. There was a federal program to test marijuana as medicine or something and there were like a dozen participants. After the program ended in some way (probably good lawyers) the people in it won the right to continue using marijuana. It is grown at some university and they each get tins sent to them with joints in them (like 5 joints or 10 joints a day). Pretty much they are immune to all local, state and muncipal laws because of the supremacy clause. I'm sure there are plenty of people that are leaps and bounds ahead of my knowledge on the subject but who knows when they will be able to respond.

edit: lol, before I could even finish typing I got owned.

  14. I sure hope a lot of you used the OSP links I provided!

The OSP should have gotten emails from as far away as Australia by now! (My friend, Anne Marie, was "totally outraged!!!" and spread the word there!)

So why haven't you sent them an email? Are you are paranoid about them "tagging" you as a pothead? Look, you don't even need to mention cannabis- just go all "fiscal conservative" on them! ;)

Just tell them you read the article in the news and you think they could use your tax money more wisely by hunting down some far more dangerous murderers, rapists and thieves! And STOP waste precious resources detaining disabled senior citizens who are not breaking the law!

And of course, blind old ladies are hardly a threat to modern society, no matter what plant matter they smoke! :smoke:

  16. Whether or not she's smoking weed or not, you can't just go around harassing old ladies. I am riled.

  18. I think the mayor's in-box is full! I just tried to email him (under my real name) and got this-

We are sorry but an error has occurred.
We have notified the administrator of this web site so that they can remedy it as soon as possible.

Sent the lt. one too, don't know if that got through, yet. :confused_2: Called his officers "bone-heads", but was otherwise polite.

    Granny

  19. Love ya Granny,
But were those not State Troopers? Why the heck were they following Federal advice rather than the State Laws? Who cleared them to act, or better yet, not act but advise the State Troopers to break State Law?
I think the State Attorney General's Office and the Gov. and/or Sherrif's Dept need to address this issue also. ;) :smoke:
