Fed Up!

Discussion in 'Marijuana Legalization' started by pyro2005, Jul 17, 2003.

  1. I'm always sending letters to my congressmen about all aspects of marijuana, from decriminalization to medical use, and all I get back is bullshit. Supposedly they never heard of any substantial studies where marijuana was the answer, no matter what I send them. Here is my most recent letter back.

    Mr. Mike Hernandez

    Dear Mr. Hernandez:

Thank you for contacting me regarding the medicinal use of marijuana. It
was good to hear from you.

The bill you mentioned in your letter, H.R. 2592, was introduced by
Representative Barney Frank (D-MA). This legislation provides for the
medical use of marijuana in accordance with the laws of the various
States. Further, this bill transfers marijuana from schedule I to
schedule II of the Controlled Substances Act. Therefore, in a State in
which marijuana may be prescribed or recommended by a physician for
medical use under applicable State law, no provision of the Controlled
Substances Act shall prohibit or otherwise restrict: the prescription or
recommendation of marijuana by a physician for medical use; an individual
from obtaining and using marijuana from a physician's prescription or
recommendation of marijuana for medical use; or a pharmacy from obtaining
and holding marijuana for the prescription or recommendation of marijuana
by a physician for medical use under applicable State law. This bill has
been referred to the House Subcommittee on Health.

As for my views on the issue of medical marijuana, I am aware of reports
that marijuana may provide therapeutic relief for individuals with certain
ailments who feel that their symptoms are unresponsive to conventional
medical treatments. I am not, however, aware of any reputable studies
which support this contention. I oppose legalizing a drug that many
health professionals believe is associated with health risks that far
    exceed any possible therapeutic benefits.
For more information on issues pending before the Senate, you can visit
my web page at lieberman.senate.gov. Again, thank you for contacting me.
Please continue to keep me informed of your various positions.

    Sincerely,

    Joe Lieberman

  2. My personal experience of many years/hundreds of letters ,tells me you should not have expected any more than you received. In fact in the majority of letters you send you will receive no reply or acknowledgement whatsoever.

In fact I now recomend all American marijuana users 'perfect' their underground use/sources ,rather than writing to doctors ,lawyers ,and politicians as I have in the past as it is a total waste of time.

I propose rather a border to border underground network of 'cells' to supply the never ending demand for reasonably priced ,quality marijuana.

What I need is "quantity 'and' quality" - "out of the country" suppliers ,who are willing to take the risk ,and reap the rewards.

Now if somebody wants to get behind something like that going ,I'm in.

But don't waste any more of your time writing letters that ,in all truth ,will probably never even be read by the person you are sending them to.

    regards ,
    roach

  3. I have spent many hours, and written many letters myself, not as much as you, but i'm getting up there. I just want to try to spread the word as much as I can.

But I think you are right; they never even are read by the intended people.

I'll start writing to doctors and lawyers and others like you suggested.

  4. roach if i may say so you have a wonderful idea about the cells thing, although i fully dont understand,im pretty interested
