  11. Almost all of my favorite music is instrumental, across a bunch of genres.

For rock/metal, I love Metallica's instrumentals. To live is to die, Orion, Call of Ktulu. Buckethead is also an amazing guitarist, and Iced Earth has some fucking sick tracks too. I can also get down with some Joe Satriani from time to time.

Chillout, downtempo stuff like Bonobo (new album, The North Borders, just came out. Fucking fantastic) and Gelka. There's a kind of 8-bit ish guy (or group, I dunno) called I am Robot and Proud that I like a lot, super mellow but lots of patterns to perk your ears. I like some noise/math-rock stuff like Godspeed you Black Emporer, Explosions in the Sky(check out Your Hand in Mine), The American Dollar, This Will Destroy You and Giraffes? Giraffes!.

There's also hip-hop instrumentals that I like a lot, Blockhead is my favorite. He's done beats for Asap Rock and some others. Beats Antique as well.

On the flip side I can really get down to some Flamenco-style Spanish guitar, sooo fucking chill. Paco de Lucia is who to listen to, mother fucker is a guitar sorcerer.

There's a lot of good stuff from musical scores from movies as well. Check our E.S. Posthumus, you've actually probably heard a a few of their tracks before and not known it.

Jami Seiber and Shira Khammen have some really great Irish/Celtic sounding traditional folk music, which was a big part of the indie game Braid, if you're familiar with it.

Fuck yea buckethead^ i forgot all about him. Also i remember playing carmaggedon when i was a kid and the soundtrack was the complete fear factory - demanufacture album instrumentals.

Oh yea, can anyone recommend any jazz instrumentals that i can get down to, maybe throw a few bass licks around with it.
