Favorite Tarantino movie?

Discussion in 'Movies' started by Keith McKief, Jan 1, 2013.

  1. Now I, along with many people in this world highly regard Quentin Tarantino as one of the best filmmakers of our time. He's made movies that are mostly critical and commercial successes with his unique style.

If you had to pick one Tarantino movie and list it as your favorite, what would it be and why?

I personally love all his movies, but my favorite would go down as Inglourious Basterds. I felt that movie is a great way to be introduced to Tarantino as it is a perfect example of Tarantino's excellent dialogue, cinematography, writing, action and the ability to constantly keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more. Moreover, the characters are pure gold and the story is original. Definitely a must-see for anybody.

Tl;Dr Favorite Tarantino movie, and why?

  2. Pulp Fiction, the excellent dialogue, dark humor, Samuel l Jacksonwith with an afro, story telling with them interacting, bizarre moments played out realistically

  3. i cant decide. i love them all so much, and i havent seen Django Unchained yet.. but fuck i dont think i could actually choose just one.

  4. I'm torn between reservoir dogs and pulp fiction :(

  5. I had a feeling a lot of people would say Pulp Fiction, and that's a great movie by all means.

  6. It's hard to say which is my favorite. Kill Bill used to be my favorite but I really like Inglourious Basterds as well. With Django Unchained, things get even more muddled. It's hard to decide, which says how great Tarantino is. I'd say at the top would be Inglourious Basterds or Django, and at the bottom would be Jackie Brown, then Death Proof. Didn't care much for Death Proof (but have only seen it once) and I did enjoy Jackie Brown, even though a lot of people don't like that one.

  7. Yeah, Death Proof is pretty low on my list as well. It just wasn't Tarantino's best work, but that's not to say it wasn't a good movie. It was, but it's just not something worth seeing multiple times in my opinion.

  8. Hands DOWN. thread ended. Who's rockin the VHS tapes?

    Attached Files:

  9. Django is pretty dope

  10. Right now Django Unchained.

  11. Reservoir Dogs
    Jackie Brown
    Kill Bill 1 & 2
    From Dusk Till Dawn
    True Romance

    In that order.

  12. It kinda just has to be Pulp Fiction for me. Love most his stuff though. Also don't really get why a lot of people dislike Jackie Brown, I love that one too.

  13. Inglorious Bastards or Django, both were very good.

  14. Reservoir Dogs for dialogue and acting. Pulp Fiction for story, cinematography, and just downright great imagination.

Jackie Brown was a cool throwback to Blaxploitation films, Inglorious Basterds was OKAY, Kill Bill was clearly a tribute to movies Tarantino loves, but none of them have a patch on the first two.

I honestly think Tarantino is a far better writer than he is a director. True Romance was a great piece of writing, but i doubt if Tarantino directed it that he would have done as good a job as Tony Scott did.

  15. Pulp Fiction or Inglorious Basterds.

  16. Seen pretty much all of them, including Django.

    Damn tough call.

For a while there, it was Pulp Fiction. Instant classic, a bit of everything in there.

Then Kill Bill came along. Love the swordplay.

Then Inglorious Basterds. (Read about some of the behind-the-scenes on that one, especially the theatre scene. Also heard Pitt and Tarantino negotiated his salary over a large brick of hash.)

    And now Django.

Dunno, he seems to just keep getting better, and my favorite seems to be moving with the timeline.

  17. Inglorious Basterds and Resevoir Dogs and Jackie Brown (which i think is very underrated), and Kill Bill

  18. Jackie Brown really is underrated. Great film.

  19. Inglorious Basterds, definitely... although I've yet to see his new one.

  20. Inglorious Basterds for sure.

on a side note that one movie he acted in and helped write called "From Dusk Till Dawn" was just hilariously bad.
