under the bridge [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AHvch2OqzE[/ame] californication [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlUKcNNmywk]YouTube - Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication (Video)[/ame] Anything peppers really.
this song [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkhX5W7JoWI]YouTube - Money - Pink Floyd + Lyrics[/ame] ... i cant actually play a guitar lol.
12 Bar Blues in E w/improvisation on the licks and plenty of ego-masturbation The relaxing Island Song I made up. Might as well be called chromatic madness Da da-da-da da da da daaaa (insert fill) She's a beaut.
Mother by Pink Floyd was the very first song I ever learned. Raining Blood is pretty fun, so is Eaten by Bloodbath. I mostly play metal and blues, but this song.. beats all other songs on the funfactor [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kTmnmBEpZQ&feature=related]YouTube - The White Stripes - Screwdriver[/ame] It's easy as shit, but it gets suck in your head forever to where you just have to play it.
I don't know what level you are at, but these are my favorites Wish you were here - Pink floyd The first solo gets me every time... so great. A must-know for every guitarist, provided you enjoy that kind of music Little Wing - Jimi Hendrix This one gives me chills every time I hear it. Honestly though, I prefer the Stevie Ray Vaughan version [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAG-kX_IlUw]YouTube - Stevie Ray Vaughan Little Wing[/ame] (Speaking of SRV, check out Scuttle Buttin' if you like the blues ) Say it ain't so - Weezer First song I ever learned
Hells yes. Except I play mostly open tunings. Favourite songs to play tho, hmm.. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZDOWsun_kY]YouTube - Led Zeppelin- Black Country Woman (STUDIO VERSION)[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjcOSmmTTiE]YouTube - Johnny Winter - Dallas (1969)(AUDIO ONLY)[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSht5j3Cnh0]YouTube - Led Zeppelin - Travelling Riverside Blues (promo)[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjZCtMg_j04]YouTube - George Thorogood - Ride on Josephine (with lyrics)[/ame] and of course.. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjuP0SWqUR0]YouTube - Bob Marley - No Woman No Cry (version rare)[/ame]
yeah wish you were here the first solo was the first thing i ever learned on guitar and yeah i can play the intro to little wing and the jimi's solo but never really learned more than that.. and yeah SRV's version is better in terms of guitar but little wing is a love ballad and just isn't the same without the vocals IMO. and i forgot about scuttle buttin.. i'll look into that todya..
I'm an acoustic guy here so my top 3 are: In an Aeroplane Over the Sea- NMH Sleeping sickness- City and Colour A boy, A girl and a Graveyard- Jeremy Messersmith And of course: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80DtQD5BQ_A]YouTube - Tenacious D: Master Exploder[/ame] It's so fuuuuun
How could I forget Knockin' on Heavens Door? Play it with 8th-note arppeggios until the first chorus then I play the chords. The whole song is just G D am G D C repeated so ya gotta add some lightning-fast fills. Then just sing it in a Bob Dylan-Axl Rose Hyrbrid and it's wild. Other current favorites for guitar/singing: Ziggy Stardust Rock N Roll Suicide Five Years
