favorite kind of lighter

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by 2FootBong, Nov 17, 2011.

  1. well i haven't seen a thread about this in awhile and i think its a good topic.
of course any time one suspects that lighters are the least important part of a toker's arsenal, just remember the last time you didn't have one. u can have all the pieces u want, but with no flame u cant smoke anything.
so, id have to say my favorite is bics with the child safety pried off. they seem to last forever, they're quiet, and the child safety is easy to remove. once its off, no amount of smoking will ive you a "lighter callus" which a shitty one will. also, you dont just get a bic that doesnt work. i used to buy shitty ones in bulk and found on average 1 in 4 would be broke when u got them. i find its always worth the $1.69 (i have to buy them from a store where they dont call me out on being under 19) for the bics versus $1/3 of the shitty ass ones.
i do have a butane torch which i use rarely, and i will say its a stylish way to smoke. i sometimes heat a glass rod with the torch and then light the bowl with the rod. but those things are fucking dangerous, if u accidentally touch the flame you'd get a pretty bad burn.

so, whats everyone's favorite kind of lighter?

  2. I have a Beatles zippo. Replaced the shitty wick with a butane insert so basically it's a stylish bic.

dude, i was thinking about doing that before i got my torch. the torch was $5, the zippo and insert would be much more. how much was the insert? my dad has an old broken zippo with an NRA (national rifle association) logo on it, it would be cool to get that and put a butane insert in it.

yeah i feel ya on the white. i have a white one atm and i always look at it so suspiciously. im using a green one right now so im hoping it lasts awhile so i dont have to use the white one. and yeah, haha what can i say i was bored

  9. Nah, it's all good. Once you're done it should fit back in like a glove. Either way, i'd buy a clipper just for the stick on the wheel, for some reason it packs down joints beautifully.

Coincidentally, if I get stuck half way through rolling I use a bic pen to pack it down.

  11. Classic large Bic lighter.

  14. Sounds like the company is very subliminal with its marketing.

  16. Classic Bic lighter.
I don't think Bics are necessarily good lighters but it's tradition.

  17. I only use a black or red Bic. All other colors I won't touch. I have extreme OCD so if I have to toke with any other lighters, such as when toking with friends, I either have to use extreme self control to try and not have an "episode" or I usually just end up bringing my own lighter.

    Yeah, OCD sucks.

  18. I like to flic my bic.

Doesnt matter what color but I usually have a brown one that i call "Diglett"
