So I was just wondering who everyone's favorite drummer is? Mine used to be Neil Peart, then Keith Moon, now John Bonham lol
Brann Dailor and Joe Morello. Fuck Neil Peart Haha sorry but I think Peart, Bozzio, and a lot of the bigger names are way overrated. People think they're the gods of drumming and overlook bad ass drummers like Billy Cobham, Dennis Chambers, and Louie Bellson. Louie Bellson even trademarked the double bass set damnit.
Jimmy Chamberlin, Noah Lennox, and Jeremiah Green. Not the best technically but they're my favorite style-wise.
Chad Szeliga (Sw1tched, Breaking Benjamin) Gene Hoglan (Fear Factory, Strapping Young Lad, Dethklok, etc.) Mike "Bug" Cox (Coal Chamber) Brann Dailor (Mastodon) Dave Grohl (Duh ) And there's more, but I'm too blitzed to think of them at the moment.

ok Gene Hoglan is good and so is Brann Dailor, but Mario Duplantier (Gojira), George Kolias (Nile) and Martin Lopez (ex-Opeth) are tied for the best drummer ever, with a clsoe second by Tomas Haake (Meshuggah) and Sean Reinert (Cynic, Death) Kolias is a machine, he does one foot blast beat and machine gun double bass [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dcTCt66NfE&feature=related]YouTube - George Kollias - The Essential Salts[/ame] Mario Duplantier has some crazy stuff, he's a really clever drummer and will catch you off guard with a fill or cleverly placed snare, this is their old heavy stuff tho: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeJ3jlQ4dFc&feature=related]YouTube - GOJIRA HELLFEST 2006 REMEMBRANCE[/ame] Martin Lopez - the man had soul [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJt_4Gafq6g&feature=related]YouTube - Martin Lopez - Ghost of Perdition[/ame]
