  1. You lost your mind. . .

  2. a built 426 hemi would put a 427 chevy in the corner to comtemplate what it did wrong by even trying.

  3. Reminds me of

    Great movie.

  4. Not very often they don't , and in stock form the only Rat motors that are close
    are a true L88 or TriPower spec 427 or the LS6 454.

And if you are speaking of something built around the new Mopar Performance
crossbolted mains blocks , no Chevy comes close unless you spend just as much
    money.

By the way that Wedge Belvedere I refered to above was built as a money car to
annoy the Crate Motor " Big Block Cheby Is Da Bestest" crowd ( yes i'm just poking fun
here but you know the type I mean they exist in ever camp) , but then again you've got th " Hemi Is Da Bestest" loons too , it's just the grand old hotrodders tradition of
    talking S***.

If you are a fan of the Rat motors do you perchance remember the L78 , the 396
that was magically rated ar 425 horse in the 'Vette but only 375 in the Nova and a few Chevelles. I had one of those Novas , it ran 12.80s stock through a 4 speed and 4.56
gears on the crap rubber of those days , slicks and ladder bars brought it down into the 12.30 range , eventually windowed the 396 and the car finished it's life with a series
of increasingly nasty small blocks until I finally gave up and went back to big block cars.

One of my other favorite Chevy mtors was the old small journal 327 sold lifter unit , still a solid unit to build into a smaller highwinding stroker , they are especially nice
when puffed with a Vortec , Paxton etc. built right eight lbs of boost will net you plus
500 real world horses to the ground.

And in the end analysis fast is fast , I appreciate a nice piece regardless of
manufacturer label and even at my advanced age I'll run just about anyone just for the s****s and giggles.

  5. Incidentally , since I'm doing to " Old gearhead Ramble" , it's not so much about power
it's relatively easy to build in enough power , getting it hookked and leaving hard is
a whole 'nother can of worms.

One reason the Fox bodied Mustang platform is still so popular is that they're easy and
*cheap* to get hooked up , even on a ten inch spec class tire. And conversely some
cars will just need to be backhalfed , Vegas being one example , especially with a big
    block.

Smoking the tires off may impress the girls , however it often means paying the man
    at the other end.

  6. Built L88 427 would put the built 426 in the ground

  7. A factory built superstock 426 produced more HP than any other factory motor EVER. .

That is why it was banned from nascar, because Ford & Chevrolet could not compete!

Your l88 has not a chance in hell! History has already proved that!

  8. hate on dodge/chrysler all you want, the 426 hemi was one hell of a motor.

nothing can compete with a good flathead 6 from the good ol days though. may not be as powerful but it sure has the heart.

  9. The only SRT6 I know of is the Crossfire SRT6 and it's supercharged

  10. why would a chick or a pornstar need a supercharger? those are the only people that drive them anyways

  11. Didn't dodge recently release a "srt" versio of their grand caravans??? They have 6 bangers... I mean, I drive a Grand Caravan and I definetely regard it higher than what is is(I KNOW IT CANT RUN 12 SECOND MILES!! THAT WAS A JOKE)... But putting "srt" on a minivan is too far. All they did I believe was add "sport tuned suspension" or some shit.

  12. sport tuned suspension on a minivan? the whole point of a minivan is to drive your kids around in safely. there is nothing safe about a minivan with suspension tuned for a track. they're way to top heavy for that kind of driving.

  13. Part of sport suspension tuning would involve lowering the center of gravity...

Also, no one will be taking those to a track or driving them fast enough to worry about it anyway.

  14. another thing is comfort. people buy minivans to have a high level of comfort compared to a sports car. but with sports tuned suspension that, i assume, would harden up the suspension, thus taking away from the ride quality.

  15. I don't think that happened...

  16. There is no SRT Caravan.. you're hating on something that doesn't even exist lmfao

  17. Dodge Viper 1996 GTS

  18. i've read around the web that they're coming out with a 2012 viper. i wonder if it's going to be a 2012 model year or a 2013 model year released in 2012. either way it looks like they're going to be awesome with a more refined body shape and interior.

can't wait for my boss to buy one lol.
