It makes me happy to hear people encouraging buying from reputable breeders. My Husky set me back $1000 at pet quality and he's not like a REALLY special breed so I don't think $1500 for a Dogo is bad. The dogs going for 3k+ are probably breed and show quality that's why they are so expensive. I would rather spend more and get a puppy from a reputable breeder. I think those little spots on his nose are cute.
Price depends on how rare they are and how hard they are to breed. Like a French Bulldog, they can't naturally give birth because the puppies' heads are too big, and regular Bulldogs can't naturally have intercourse because of the way their bodies are shaped now. When I was in vet tech school the IT guy of the school bought a Frenchie and spent 5,000 bucks on it so they can get pretty expensive. Some dogs are rarer than other dogs like Pharaoh hounds and Salukis. Some "designer breeds" like the cockapoo and the laberdoodle (not necessarily THOSE two breeds just examples) can only be considered a breed if the male and female are full bred like a full bred labrador and a full bred poodle to make a laberdoodle, but two laberdoodles being bred produces puppies that don't have the same curly coat as a laberdoodle from two full bred parents, so there aren't a lot of available breeders and the price goes up. But the sad part is there are rescues for all these full breed dogs, but nobody wants to check a rescue. Yes reputable breeders are wonderful, but to get a good puppy they are costly. A rescue can give you the same full bred dog if you're willing to do some extra leg work to find them.
I've been looking for several. The DARN (Dogo argentina rescue network) doesn't have many dogs at all, almost all were over 5 years and they are the largest rescue. That was my first option that I looked at. I'm not going to make a commitment to an animal for another 5+ years, when that's not what fits my needs. I need an animal young enough for myself along with a little bit of professional help to be able to train successfully for my purposes.
A female Kangal, shouldn't weigh in more than 120 lbs max. A Male shouldn't be over 140 lbs. Either you are exaggerating, or I would strongly recommend dieting/ excercising your dog more often. Perhaps the major contribution to this is 34 lbs of meat a day. That should be almost a 1/3 of her body weight, not something to feed everyday, that's more of how much they should be eating weekly. Secondly, why are you bring her to areas where she would would end a fight? Would it not be best to avoid that situation? You say male dogs as if this sort of thing is perfectly fine and a normal occurance. Your dog should not have hostilty to other dogs to that degree if she was trained right.
Finally got pics of my parents three dogs, I still consider 'em mine, even though I don't really live there anymore. They were all sleeping on the porch, watchin the rain. They look a little possessed from the camera flash but... The large black dog (Shadow) and the brown are lab mixes we rescued as I said a few pages back. The smaller brindle, Squirt (I didn't name her, haha) was also a rescue. The brown, name is Mischief, dog always sleeps outside my window like that. No idea why, but that's her place haha Btw the pics are all outside, because they don't come in the house. We converted our barn for heating/ cooling for them, though.
Surprisingly, our federal government has not yet gotten into the business of banning the ownership of any breed of dog.
Yep. The APBT. I got one w/ good breeding and she is so lax all the time. Warms up to people real quick too. Damn dog even sleeps w/me 3/4 of the time.
I don't get why they can't let states make and pass laws on their own. I mean we know illegal immigrations illegal, but the ads are like ho-hum no biggie, but when a state passes a mmj law, voted on by the people, the feds start freaking out. Weird huh.
Like I said earlier though, there are some cities that ban the ownership. Like Aurora, Co and New york. Sadly, I did not realize this and was just thinking about moving to Aurora. That throws that out the window. Least I found out now, instead of if/when I moved.
Rottweiler! I love my 4 yr old girl to death... I had a cocker spaniel as my 1st dog, all black, who was really cool and sweet got as a present when I was 8... Then I turned 18 and my dad bought us a rotty, and honestly I don't think I can ever get a different dog, this one was raised just right, she's real nice, and so smart!
