father blames MJ for sons suicide

Dude, if anything, smoking weed probabbly made this guy put off suicide for a bit, but after a while too many things just piled up and weed wasnt enough of an escape anymore. I would have to say however, that weed may have resulted in his suicide. I mean, Im really pro pot and everything, and this is hard to tell since the article really didnt tell you what was going on in his life or w/e, but if he was having a rough time and using weed to escape his troubles, he would only be putting them off and letting them pile up. If he wasnt a smoker, he probabbly would have seen a counselor to take care of these problems and help him get better. So weed may have lead to his death, but it wasn't the cause, and it certainly didn't cause some "mental break".

 

Just like the salvia story. Parents want to point the finger at anything that will shift the blame from themselves. So many ignorant people in this world.

When someone tells that to you, you're supposed to seek medical help RIGHT AWAY. What kind of horrible parent just lets their son die?

That's called SCHIZOPHRENIA, which is a serious mental illness. Weed didn't make him kill himself, he was already suffering from a horrible disease.

 

That sucks..Schizophrenia would be trippy..All baked and shit.

Yeah, in this case marijuana may have played a part in his death. But ONLY BECAUSE he seems to be suffering from schizophrenia. I still wouldn't blame it SOLEY on marijuana; there are many factors to suicides.

 

I can understand reacting to the article, but I don't think we need to pass judgement... Ya know? There are probably several factors to both sides of the story; good reasons for his dad to think that, and good reasons for his dad to be wrong. Keep in mind the media doesnt cover everything.

The kid was fucked up. Marijuana didnt make him kill himself. The parents just need something to blame their sons death on..likley it was partly their fault.
People are what people make them into.

 

Man, I feel horrible for the dudes parents. I can't imagine the pain of losing a child. But it seems to me, the parents of these kids who commit suicide always blame something, video games, music, etc.... They just can't admit that their child had serious problems, and and want to look anywhere but home for the blame.

Either way, I think it's always sad to hear of ANYBODY commiting suicide, especially a kid.

 

In the book ''Uppers, Downers and All Arounders'' it states clearly that marijuana for some people triggers maniac depression or Schizophrenia.

 

That man is insane and he couldn't have done less to prevent the death of his son, except to shift blame onto the convinient scapegoat.

Geoff had smoked cannabis since his early 20s. The ironic thing was that at the time of his death he was off the stuff ??/ yes and replaced it with what.. ?? i think Geoff was depressed i dont think cannabis had anything to do with his untimely death...
