Hey guys I'm trying to wrap my head around how to wire my Far red strips (qb3) so they are on during lightson and an extra 10min after lightsoff for Emerson+Initiation. Of course one way would be to have them on a seperate timer then my flower lights but then I have to deal with timers falling out of synch after some time as they typically lose or gain a minute every few weeks. Was also looking into a 2 channels timer but those are very expensive for some reason and cost in the hundreds of dollars for one timer. So now I'm thinking of using a timer in conjunction with a photo resistor time delay relay switch thingamajig (Ninetonine DC 12V Car Led Light Control Photoresistor Plus Relay Module Light Detection Sensor)<--Amazon But I'm not sure how I would go about doing this and need some help here. I drew this to visualize what im thinking of doing: The blue box is the regular timer set to 12/12 and the green box is the photoresistor timer switch. The idea is that both the timer and the photresistor are wired to the board and when lights turn off the green timer senses the darkness and turns on for 10 minutes. NOW, since both are wired to power the board I'm guessing I need some kind of diode to restrict the flow of electricity so it only goes to the board and not into the timers. Two things I need clearing up: 1. Can this be wired this way, or do I need aditional components? Specifically, can the photoresistor timer power the boards or do I need a power relay that the timer will trigger and that powers the board? I have a feeling the timer is just a switch and I need another component to make it work but honestly I'm kinda confused at this point and dont know. 2. Will diodes allow me to wire everything this way? What kind of diodes would I need? Am I even on the right track here or is there a much simpler way of doing this? HALP!
After more searching I found this: 2 Channels Big LCD Display Programmable 24hrs Time Clock with Two Relay Outputs Ordered one, hope it works!
