  1. I have a grow room under my stairs not the whole thing just a small area..im worryed about ventalation..what should I do I was just thinking about using one fan in it..is this going to be enough or is my plant going to die right now its doing good its been above soil for about 3 days and its about 3 inches tall im using cfls so heat rly isnt a problem

  2. No one can tell you from here if your plant will live or die, we can't come close to assessing your situation with the info you provided.

People get confused about fans and ventilation. There are three considerations:

    1) MJ needs fresh air just like people do, so you need a way to circulate fresh air in and exhaust air out.

    2) You need to maintain proper temperatures, and venting out hot air and bringing in cool air is essential. This often is achieved in tandem with #1 above.

    3) As a separate consideration , you should have a fan blowing gently on the plants themselves, to promote strong stem growth.

With this knowledge you need to figure out what works best in your particular space.

  3. hey igotammo. i have a similar operation and am just testing the temp and humidity before i put my girls in there. But i have a HID and with the door shut, it gets to like 100 degrees when the outside temp is 80. Winter is coming and im hoping that when my place is like 60 degrees, the temp inside wont get hotter than 85. I am thinking about 2 options rite now.

    A) Leave the door open and keep a window open to allow fresh air to circulate along with a fan within the grow room.

    B) Keep the door shut and put a hole in the wall thats quite small. Maybe like 4 inch diameter or less and get a converter so that you can use a 6" inline or bigger to get alot of air ventilated without sacrificing fresh air to ur plants.

  4. thanks for the ideas im going to have a bigger problem with the smell:smoking:

  5. Hmm windows means pests, and curious neighbours (if you're underground which I think you are, or at least on the first level).

Ventilation would be good if you could block off the window with a wooden board (thin, plywood). cut a hole in the middle and have a tube running from it right to your plants, it'll get all the fresh air it needs like that. If you install like a mini fan at the end of the tube (by tube i mean anything, even the tube that connects the dryer to the outside of the house, ventialting it), it'll suck the air from outside better.

As for humidity you might have a bigger problem , try putting a bowl of water right under the light near the plant, might be enough :S
