Due to negligence, about 3-4 fan leaves on one of my plants burned to a crisp. The plant seems OK except for the burned parts, but what's the chance it will become a hermie? It's still in veg Also, should I cut off the burned parts?
What was the cause of the burn? Hermie from a few burned leaves is unlikely, but depends on the cause. If the leaves are mostly burned, I would cut them, or if you gently pull on them and they come off, they are ready to be removed.
thanks! The light isn't a cool tube, and there's a lot of heat between the plants and light, so I put a fan blowing air in that area. The fan was old and failed.. I don't know for how long, but when I woke up the plants were hot and leaves are brown and dry now. No full leaf got burned, just some of the "fingers" on some leaves on top of the plant. Only prob might be that the top of the plant is normally always hot. I would say 85F-90F. It's a 600W and about 1 foot directly above the plants.
Yea, one foot is fairly close for a 600W without a cool tube or proper vent. I am sure itl be ok, just try to keep it cooler.
