see it as a personnel thing but I don't and won't those bigger leaves like solar panels and make the energy required
My girls only get four hours of direct sun per day so they're fighting PM all summer long...I spread open up the branches and remove some fan leaves from the typically indica dominant strains to combat it....

and with each tear of the stem you open the plant to fungi infection, just like a cut on the finger, then gets infected a good spray with fungicide may prevent a full blown infection?
As an experiment, I cut my last GSC plant down to the nugs because I was told by a local grower that the sun will focus on just the buds and they will fatten big time. Well after 6 more weeks of no change, I said fuck it and harvested the plant. So yeah......I'd leave the leaves alone and let Mother Nature do her thing. Good luck.
