Fan into door?

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by bostongeorge, Sep 23, 2009.

  1. What's up, just joined this site to help my with my first hydroponics grow, Grow room is as good as its going to be. However...

My final problem is trying to figure out the most effective way to put a suction fan in the room to pull the grow heat out. I have an inline booster fan a friend gave to me and I was thinking of cutting the circumference of the fan into the door and mounting the fan directly in.

Would this work? Or has anyone done something like this before? Any advice would help just looking for something effective.

    Thanks.

  2. Funny you mention this. I think I'm gonna install some sort of a passive intake on my closet door. A little grill or something I don't have any details yet. I don't see why an active one wouldn't work just as well if not better. Take some pics if you go through with it.

  3. For sure will do, any ideas what would be the best to cut through a basic closet door? any sort of certain type of saw? I wouldn't have problems mounting it, just need to know the most effective way to go about hacking the door.:ey:

  4. Jigsaw would be the easiest saw to use if you can get your hands on one.

  5. Drill a large enough hole, 2in maybe? and get a hacksaw in there and start cuttin away...that was my plan

  6. awesome, I may do this in the next week or so, If i do i'll be sure to put some pictures up.

  7. How big is the fan? Hole saws are as big as 6"... attach to drill, voila done.

  8. darn, nice idea i believe the fan I have is 7"
