Fan Idea

  1. Tonight I put a 120mm 12V fan on the plants. I was looking for the best aim to give it some wind action, when I realized that I can just suspend it from a string and let it fly around.

I placed it near the top of the area, so that it would also suck in fresh air, it then rotates around and circles down to the plants, I see them shaking a little.

Seems more of a natural flow of air.

  2. i say bullshit... unless i see pics....

sweet idea... i was actually going to try something like this... nice to know it works

  3. Fine for stem strengthening...if it doesn't end up falling on the plants.

But will not draw air in through an intake, and more specifically out of an exhaust.

  4. i was under the impression this was just for pushing air about the cab... not to actually draft air into and out of a grow space...

    i hope i was right

  5. I can actually take a video of it.

This fan was not solely intended for ventillation, my room is not a closed area, there is an open area at the top and bottom, when the fan swings, it does push air out of the top, so it does help with the air exchange, but also circulates air inside to blow the little guys around.

My temp with the lights on sits around 75, so I don't need to worry about venting hot air.

I will be doubling the light amount this week, then triple what I have now when the trees get bigger, so I may need more venting then, but right now it is fine.

  6. I had a friend post it on youtube for me.

I think I may drop it down to 9volts, so it spins a little slower.

This is a 120mm fan from ebay, about 4 bucks. I used a 12v power adapter to power it. I have a few 9v power adapters laying around so I may go to that.

It works very well, it bounces air all over the place.
