i'm gonna have one of these (250cfm) either pulling or pushing (not sure which) through a kooltube (400w mh/hps switchable). and also have a 285cfm squirrel type fan blowing into a carbon scrubber. aside from a desktop fan or something inside blowing onto the plants do you guyus think i might need anything else? nez. thanks in advanced.
i have a 100w hps in a diy cool tube, and a diy carbon scrubber all on the same exhaust line and i am using a small computer fan to pull air through BOTH and can cool my bulb to the point of being able to touch it with my bare hands. I have not used the pictured fan, but it does have a far higher cfm rating than the computer fan i use, so i see no reason why you should have a problem cooling your light with it. i wouldnt use a computer fan to blow on your plants however, i think a small oscialting fan is a worthy investment, about 12 bucks. LOTE
I agree with clinton, they are not real good for anything not even for what they show it being used for on the box. They push alot of air if not restricted at all. I wish I knew you, I would give you the one I bought for free. R.
I use one to cool my 400mh it does a great job. it blows the air through the hood.(supersun 2) If your using it just to cool the tube it will be fine.
Those fans are not ment to be used for venting a room. They are used in long duct runs to help boost the airflow.
wait wait. do you guys meant he desktop fans he mentioned at the end of his question?? or the first 2 (squirrel cage and then the one in the pic) he was talking about? cause yea the desktop fans arent good but the first two look fine... i've never heard anyone say squirrel cage fans cant move air...
ok thanks for all the replys i know i havn't been around in a while. i still have my set up.. srsly .. just sittin there, lol. just to get things straight. 1.squirrel cage fan hooked onto filter should be good 2. that fan for cooling the cool tube no good 3. and computer fans no good. what do you guys recommend for cool tube? i'm trying to keep it as quite as possible. being that this growbox is gonna be in my room. lol @ rumple -thanks! i wish i knnew you too.. lol in time.. in timmee... haha nez just some extra info. i wiill be using a mills pride type box apprx 3*4*7 and still considering doing DWC just cause turn around time is faster. but patience is key anyways. so soil is still an option.. thanks everyone for the help!!
can anyone help me please.... need info on air movment, exhaust fans, intact fans etc. ive got a 1.2m x 1.2m x 2m grow tent. il be using atami 20 pot hydroponic system, which just fits in tent nice. ive got a 100mm carbon filter. its a cf 160m3/h. are these atam systems any good??? what sort of inline fan do i need?? can buy cheap ones for about 15 quid, they move about 100m3/h..... is that enough??..........how much should i be looking for?............if i use a 100m3/h inline fan will i get temp problems or will it be fine? do i need an intake fan? is it really neccesary. id be very gratefully if someone out there can help me, me oppionions the better. once i get this sorted im ready set grow cheers
