quickie guys. im planning on getting 1000w switchable hps MH is a 4' inline fan good for a mills pride cabbie(c14 or alike models)? or is it better for a 600w with a 4' inline fan? thanks again hommies!!
For a 1000w you need a 150mm fan really. You might get away with a 100mm fan in wintertime(lower ambient air temps)but may well get mould problems. Sorry,you guys still do inches.Oh how quaint! 4" = 100mm 6" = 150mm. When are you guys gonna drag your arses into the 21st century?
damn. that sucks cause i foun decent priced 1000w switchable with 100mm inline that connects to the ballast i don't know weather i should dump(or sell) the fan and replace with a 150mm fan or just stick to this?
i realize you're probably just kidding. but is it really necessary? it's not our fault we haven't gotten in line with the metric system. there was talk of converting some years ago, but nothing ever came of it. yes, americans are a bit behind the times of our european counterparts, but there's no reason we can't "all just get along." p.s. i'm just kidding too!

Hey there Nezbud, the fan that comes with that unit is more for light cooling than air exchange.Looks like a good bit of kit though.With a additional 100mm(4") fan you should be ok. Edit:Sorry my friend,forgot to ask:What is the size of your grow or proposed grow?
really, i was kidding about the metric crap! (no offense dr.) as far as the wattage, i've never heard of a 1000 watt cab. that doesn't mean it can't be done. what are the dimensions? i've seen "many" 400 watt cabs, and they seem to produce nicely. you may want to consider a cool tube. they can really aid in keeping cab temps. to a minimum. there is a really good deal on them now at this link. www.mdhydro.com do a search for "kool tube." your first search will bring you to the search option again. just searh again.

that cool tube doubles as a reflector. correct? well demensions i really don't know off the bat cause im at work right now. but its a millpride. one of the c13 models.im guessin something like 35*24*72 . one more thing does anyone know if there's a mills pride club on GC?? if please link im having trouble finding it.. lol thanks Keep it high hommies
hey, yes, there is reflective material on top of the tube. tubes are perfect for cabs. if the dimensions are similar to a c-13 then i'd go with a 400 watter. you'll be pleased with the harvest.
i want to grow around 4 or 6 plants i think im gonna go for a 400 or 450watt with fans. since my funds ar low at the moment. stay stoned hommies
400w is plenty for a typical cab, maybe even 250w. What is the footprint inside? A 250w will cover up to about 9 sq ft adequately, a 400w up to about 15 sq ft.
