As far as my family is concerned, I'm the turd in the punchbowl. Everyone else in my family has a high paying career and I do not. What I do have is true happiness, a house paid in full, and an awesome wife. For example, my father was a manager of advanced design at a major defense corporation and was miserable, I'm a manger of advanced lollygagging and I am happy as a clam. Long story short, if you're happy then you have succeeded at life.

Inevitably you are going to disappoint someone...Inevitably, you will disappoint family. It happens...Can't feel guilty about it all the time, and there certainly isn't any merit in feeling guilty about your family simply being stupid.
