Fallout: New Vegas

1. I loved fallout 3, never actually finished a story line though. I'd play for awhile get hooked, then stop playing for a couple months... go back, make a new character again play for awhile and then stop playing again. Even though I didn't finish it I still loved it.

Haven't played New Vegas yet, been waiting for steam sale to come around one day so I can pick it up for real cheap.

2. New Vegas has gone on sale during this Summer Sale two or three times for $4.99 (I think $9.99 it and all the DLC). You missed out man. It may go on sale once more before it's over (tomorrow), but I doubt it.

3. ehh, I'm sure it'll go on sale again sometime. Not in any huge rush.

4. For sure. If it's not one of their random midweek/weekend sales, I'm sure it will be around for the Halloween one.

5. My biggest problem with Fallout 3 is because Bethesda developed it and tried to mash up the story from the first two. I hope Fallout 4 is nothing like Skyrim.

Obsidian did a great job with New Vegas and really made it feel like a Fallout game. My #1 RPG of all time. I'd pick up the Ultimate Edition, the expansions are really great and all tie in with one another. Ulysses is my favorite NPC of all time. I have never had a game stop me in my tracks and make me think about the "why of it, " and why my character follows what he or she follows.

6.
The biggest problem with Fallout is the low max level cap. I never understood all that.

I really hope (but doubt) the next one has a higher cap.
do you have the dlc contents? The four of them together raises the level cap by 50, with newer perks too. And the dlc's are so awesome. Whole new levels, not in Mohave Wasteland either, completely different world. BUT, sierre madre casino was THE hardest time for me on hardcore. They strip you of all your bottlecaps, weapons and aids. And on hardcore mode you have to eat sleep and drink. The air in the atmosphere drains your health too. But it's very rewarding if you can get all 37 bricks of gold out before leaving because you can't come back. Never have to worry about bottlecaps again ;). Old World Blues was by far one of my favorite dlc

7. In both FO3 and NV, I'd have to say the Hunting Rifle is my trusty friend.

Modded out my Rifle in NV and EVERYONE who shoots me gets their skull popped. Then I have another one without a scope for midrange engagements.

In 3, it's the only gun I have along with the Xuanlong Assault Rifle. Gah, it's such a great and reliable weapon. (the Hunting Rifle, that is) :smoke:

8. I loved the hunting rifle until I got the sniper rifle. That is my new trusty. For closer engagements, I switch to the lever action shotgun.

9. I forgot, do the sniper and hunting rifle both use .308 rounds?

I always liked the hunting rifle because it was durable and lasted a while, and I remember the sniper being almost as fragile as glass.

I love the lever action shotgun, but I must admit the hunting shotgun has been a favorite of mine for a long, long, long time. Although, the lever action has speed the hunting shotgun cannot rival. :devious:

10. Yeah, they both use the .308, which I have the hardest time finding! I'll go to all the shops I can and buy as much of it as possible, but when I run out, I can't find it again for quite some time.

I usually resort to using the service rifle or cowboy repeater when that happens.

11. ALL i used was either melee- or the 'sequoia revolver'

12. i used a shotgun with slugs. it was one of the better/best shotguns in the game.

i also liked using one of them sniper rifles with the incendiary rounds. too much fun sitting back behind a car setting people on fire without them even knowing where you are.

13. I tend to stay away from energy weapons. They can be pretty powerful, but I'm just not a fan of them. I suppose I just like the authentic and realistic nature of using a pretty beat gun.

14. I dunno why, but energy weapons tend to drive me away from them because I thoroughly enjoy hearing the 'bang' of the guns whereas the energy weapons' 'tz' just doesn't make me feel like a badass.

Except the energy rifle that looks like a Thompson 1945. That's a badass energy weapon haha

15. I agree. I hardly use energy weapons. If it were in real life, hell yeah I'd go with laser beams, but the sound of regular guns is nice.

I'm starting a new character with hardcore mode on. Anybody else playing hardcore? I've never done it so I'm not sure if I can handle it yet, but I like the idea of it.

16. Definitely a great game. I wish I could play it for the first time again. But theres a learning curve.. really you have to find a good build that suits your playing style and pwns on the game. I highly recommend checking out this video, its useful for all players and the build works beautifully [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45zqqT_aNwk]Fallout New Vegas- "Very Hard" Character Build - YouTube[/ame]

20. Great game, but New Vegas was poo. Im sorry for all those who may be in love with it, But Fallout 3 was shitting on New Vegas.

I feel that the Capital Wasteland had much more to offer. From the subway systems, to the historic buildings of the Capital. NV didn't have shit... Probably because it took place in a location thats pretty much already a wasteland, Nuclear Holocaust or not. The Dessert of Nevada already doenst have anything to offer outside of vegas. There was just too much dessert. Sure there were towns here and there, but in that game, everything felt somewhat forced.

I can't wait for fallout 4. Hopefully it takes place in a similar context to Fallout 3, which was for all intents and purposes, a masterpiece
