  1. Faith in anything is not a good idea.

the stronger the faith, the more blind to factualities and logic.

Faith in the authority of your government allows corruption to simply walk in through open doors. we as canabis apreciators can easily accept this.

Faith in medical practices, leaves you open to the spread of disease. for example, blood. contamination in blood supplies has lead to so many complications and deaths. the practice of the use of needles in poorer countries has proven to be the greatest cause of HIV and AIDS contamination.

Faith in any organised religion can turn you into a crazed zealot without you ever noticing. Look at extremist Islamic warriors... willing to die for what they have been told and what they believe, yet they know nothing that sience can teach... most will have not even looked through a telescope to discover whats really out there. Christian based society through the ages has caused much suffering through their ignorance. and a fact that i still take great pleasure in alerting people to... organised religion acounts for 95% of all wars, and thus is responsable for more deaths than perhaps even disease!

Faith in society can lead to complacancy that "they will do the right thing". this is wrong, partly because theres no such thing as the "right thing", but mainly because life is far too complex for there to be one solution that everyone (or enough of a majority) can follow to make everything ok.

use logic. faith can be broken. logic is stronger than faith.
logics only falability lies in a lack of input. faiths falability is faith. use logic.

  2. so the question is what i rely on most? i would say logic, i dont have any faith in religion, most of my faith is in my mom and one of my friends.

  3. I think I rely on something else....just a feeling I have sometimes....

    I don't have any faith.

  4. It's not faith that's the problem...it's what you put your faith in.

Logic? What is logic? You have to have faith in logic if you trust in logic.

  5. it aint "logical" to drink alcohol but we all do that. it aint logical to smoke tobacco but many in the city do.

or are you meaning in religion and reality ???

anyway just dont conform and you will be on a good track for life

  6. jesus was nailed, he died, he got buried.

"God" didnt answer his prayers the same as he wont answer yours.

    God is dead.

  7. i find this ammusing... seeing as how he's answered several of my prayers.

  8. "you can't petition god by an prayer!"

Well.... yeah faith can be bad but it should be noted that it helps thousands of people to get trough the life they're living, and that's the main catch in religion I think, to help people to get trough their journeys in life, and that's that! there's no point in putting religion everywhere, like in politics or science it doesn't work, and what bothers me most is that people don't usualy even think about the religion they're bound to believe it's just there. And why is it so important the god you're praying to has to be the good told about in the bible? or koran etc.? is it somehow more real if you believe in a god that a lot of other people believe too? does it make it more right? well enough about faith there's logic wich you can use in science and logistics and etc. but there's situtaions where you can't rely on logic, like emotional stuff and such

  9. word. whats the problem with faith in god? i dont ask god for favors and blame god when things go wrong. if you have faith in mankind you have to have faith in god.

  10. i dont think you know what jesus was praying for.

  11. I do not beleive in god, nor do I have faith in one.. logic is my answer......

  12. it just doesn't make sense to believe in anything supernatural, religions included.

it's irrational. with some people it even takes on all the traits of a mental illness. delutions of grandure, paranoia, hallucinations etc.

oh, and smoking and drinking is logical. it all depends upon the values and variables you put into the equation. i like to enjoy myself, have fun. in order to do that properly i need to relax. smoke and drink relax me. as do weed. ergo, i drink and smoke.

  13. this cracks me up.. it really does.

you ask what logic is as you know not what it is... yet then you go on to say that "You have to have faith in logic if you trust in logic." well.... no. if i were to use the same logic to sentence structure as you have i would have to write "You have to have logic in logic if you trust in logic."

some might say that you might need faith in the beleif that the information you have prior to forming your logic. but thats not logical either. we know there will nearly always be variable outside our knowledge, but this can be calculated for logically. To simply write of anything to an unbased belief or "faith" is to ignore the factual and the quest for the factual.

logic is based on truth. faith seeks only to create truth.

oh... and kexin... spot on. Anyone going to KGS really needs to figure that out. That place is stifeled (?spellunked wrong?) with conformity and supression of free thought. basically a haven for facism.

  14. i tihkn faith is part.
    but everything is neccessary.
    everything d(g)ood that is.

sorry, i thikn i missed the question,

    lol.

  15. but if your faith in a 'belief' is true... logic fails
you can't say for sure that logic is true.. it can go both ways.

  16. even logic has its limits, namely language.. there's no "super language" we can learn or invent that'll solve all of our vexing problems
    god, evil, existence, etc..
    ignorance is bliss..

  17. I personally have never understood what was so damn attractive about religion, even as a child. Following a god seems to get you into more trouble than it's worth. You have to fight for them, give them money, wake up early.... it's too much to pretend I'm not alone in this struggle called life. Feels good to think we were put here for a reason, doesn't it?

  18. "Faith is beliving in something you know isn't true."
