How many people do you think actually know your birthday? I know that, outside of my family, only my girlfriend and friend that I've known since I was just weeks old know the actual date. Besides that, anyone who says "happy birthday" to me only knows it because of Facebook. How do I know this? Because I disabled my Facebook yesterday and make no announcements. I, to some extent, feel clever. I don't blame anyone for not knowing this date. I'm rather good with dates and know the birthdays of the majority of the small handful of friends that I've got. Do I exchange gifts? Rarely. I gave my friend my old handlebars the other week and said, "happy birthday" to him. His birthday is next month. What did he gave me? He is going to make me a Burl Wood pipe himself. It will be a fine handcrafted gift and I'll appreciate it. I picked the piece out too. Burl Wood is hard to come by and is rather rare. I'll feel fancy with it. just some thoughts
