I went to use an older fan in my tent but it would not turn on. I could hear a faint buzz when I plugged it in, but the motor just wouldn't spin. Before deciding to throw the unit out, here's what I did: This is the dirty old circulating fan. I popped off the front cover, sometimes there's a screw, but this one just uses clips. Here's a can of White Lithium Grease. A can costs much less than a new fan. Attach the red line to the can's nozzle and direct the spray to the center, under the blades, where the motor is. It doesn't take much, just a little squirt. Hand turn the motor and blades. Make sure to clean the fan before using it again; I prefer to use isopropyl alcohol. This restored the fan perfectly; I will be including this greasing trick in my future maintenance.
over time the prop become brittle, so caution with the wipes I've had to replace many fans over this, now these China made desktop fans are pricey before dirt cheap could I say 'Climate Change' even Hootie Terrorist's ? ...lol To add, I've done much to customize these 6 inch fans mostly adding a 12-18 inch rod to extend the height, I fill the base with quick dry cement, then extend the height, I've yet to figure a way to oscillate it
