Hey all, so a few days ago I cleaned out my Exteme Q's tube and glass slide (don't know technical names, if any) with 91% iso. The reclaim dabs had a not so appealing taste after exhaling and I am looking to see if the iso had pulled off material from the tube. My brother and I both agreed it tasted like a mix of rubber/something gnarly, I now make pills with the reclaim but am still curious as to what the taste was. All replies will are appreciated
Reclaim dabs? You mean the oil? How long did you leave the iso in the tube? How long did you let the iso evaporate from the oil?
Thanks for your reply, Yep the oil that builds up. I gave it three tries, as in, poured in enough to cover it than shook it for, I'd say, 5 minutes each time give or take a minute. I put a heater/fan in next to the dish at 80 degrees for 2 hours, let sit for 24 hours (not by choice), than another 2-3 hours next to heater. It was not dabbed for 2 or 3 days after scraped i believe.
Five minutes is a long time in the tube. I'd bet that was it. I just pour it in and let it go back and forth a couple times, gets it all with 99% iso. The iso may have started eating the tube a little, or at least absorbing the flavor.
That's what I assumed haha. I don't know if you know this, or own an EQ, but they come with pvc hosing (I did not know) , which according to this: http://www.goodyearrubberproducts.com/files/PacEchoSunflow/PacEchoSunflow/PacEchoSunflow1.Page43.pdf Iso does eat at the pvc tubing. To fix this, I found some replace the stock tubing with silicone tubing, which according to this: http://www.sincaninc.com/pumps/perist/watson/tubeguide-01.pdf Silicone is suitable for not losing material into iso. Thanks for the advice, until i get silicone I will do as you do.
Yeah, I buy 10' of tube at a time every now and then, along with a couple bottles of 99% iso at the drug store.
I personally don't know, but you could email vaporworld, a company, and they would let you know and sell it, if you were looking to buy.
Its just 3/8" inside diameter available in hardware stores if you're cheap. Just make sure you buy the kind that resists heat. Food grade or medical tubing is excellent.
Not until it's dirty or you clean the oil and cut it or whatever. I'm just saying it's common and easy to get, so don't think you have to use a dirty tube. Food grade is what you want, it is heat resistant so won't release gasses.
