Extended flowering period?

  1. Hey,

I have a very small indoor plant and it looks like about 80% of the white hairs on the plant have turned brown. My problem is that the buds on the plant are very small and underdeveloped. The plant seems to be starting to rapidly grow buds finnally but now that 80% of the hairs are brown I'm being told to harvest.

What is the danger in letting the plant grow at this point? If I harvest now I'd only get a few grams and the buds are getting bigger by the day.

    Thanks for the help,
    Matt

  2. any pics that would help?

  3. Need more info.

Whats the wattage and type of light your using?
    Do you know strain?
    Did you supply nutrients?
    Size of pot?
    Enough water + air?

Hairs are just the first sign to harvest time. They do not determine when to harvest.
The hairs could be 100% brown and still not be ready.
It is when the hairs start to wither and decay that you should be concerned about picking ASAP.

Best bet is to get a 25x-50X microscope and examine the trichromes closer.
A good starting point is a ratio of 50% amber 50% clear trichromes.

More clear = more head high
More amber = more body stone

The stain will have the largest effect on the type of high...harvest timing will just help increase your deseired effect a slight degree.

When the trichromes start to turn dark amber/brown and the bulbs burst, this is the time THC starts to decline. Harvest before this.
