Hey Everyone, I purchased the general organics go box last year and it worked great for me. I've just been storing it in the basement. I have a bunch left, does anyone know how long it will stay good for. I don't want to use it and kill the plants. Thanks,
I had pretty much the same question. I contacted general hydroponics directly about it. Do Nutrients have a shelf life? thats a link to the thread I created regarding it. here is what GH hit me back with. and a PDF they emailed me on expiration. Hey guys, Thought i'd let you know with what GH responded to me with. Good afternoon Josh, warranty periods are as follows: unopened- nutrients are warrantied for 1 year from the date of manufacture for quality and packaging. Once products are opened- 6 months max, although we anticipate the product to be used within the time period of a production garden run. This would be roughly 12-16 weeks at max. Shelf life is drastically reduced after opening, especially with organics. Bacteria and fungal diseases can and will feed on the rich nutrients and carbohydrates found in our products. Every time a bottle is opened- you run the risk of contaminating the products with environmental air containing pathogens. See the attached doc to make sense of our date codes. Use this information when shopping at your hydro store to ensure you have the longest possible time to store and use your materials. Many growers change how they buy once they have this information. Like milk- it's not a wise idea to volume buy to save money unless you can use it before it goes bad. Thanks GH-STANDARDS_ProductDateCode_112113 (1).pdf
