Ok so I'm in the process of setting up my grow room, its a closet, and its dimensions are 4' long by 2' across and 8' high There is an hatch to the attic above (no ladder) and I'm going to vent through there. Anyway to totally eliminate the smell I would have to have negative pressure in the closet right? I was thinking of doing a stanley blower mod (for $50 it seems worth it) does the blower have too much power? should i get a small inline fan? (and also if i vent into the attic will the smell leak down into the house?)
if you have access to the attic then your set, you can straight vent into your attic and you wont need a very powerfull fan to do it, just reduce the opening of your attic to fit around you fan, the smell will go outside somewhat ( i dont know how high you attic is) you could always add a carbon scrubber. either way the attic hatch puts you one step ahead already.
Thanks for the advice, I put a thick plastic over the hole, and I'm planning on running the tube right up through a hole in the middle. So its okay if i buy this then? http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs...langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100396559
If your venting straight into the attic that fan should work fine... I'm currently running one of those in my 4x4x7 tent, with passive intake and it work fine with my CFL setup. Since you have that opening going into your attic in the room it should work just fine for you... if you wanted you could get the 8" The only problem you may have is if you run a filter... that I cant answer.
