What's the best exhaust fan for grow tent that's quiet, I have a 8 inch metal vivosun exhaust fan with filter and a 8 inch intake fan at bottom of tent 5x5 Was wanting to replace them for something quieter if there is anything out there better than what I got. The strain I'm growing now you can smell with what I'm using now.
Right now I've got an 8x8 tent (only half full atm) that I run two 4-inch AC infinity exhaust fans in line on some dryer duct, each fan is rated at 200cfm and I tend to run them both at 75% 24/7, and will max them out while I'm working in the tents so less dankness gets into the house. So far theses fans have no problem keeping the dank out (they pull through approximately 40 feet of 4 inch duct before exhausting outdoors) I have one 6-inch 300cfm inline fan (no name brand off amazon) that I use to bring in cooler air from the canning cellar when things get too warm. (In winter I'll have it pull warmer air from the main basement) I have this set to a thermostat switch (plugs into a wall receptacle, then you plug the fan into the other side of the controller) to keeps temps about where I want them. I seem to be getting enough air changes per hour, but not so much that I can't up the RH with a healthy spraying of the canopy (or a humidifier on low), but at the same time keeps a more or less comfortable 50-60% RH (there is a dehu in there set to kick on if things get above 60.) Anyway the AC infinity fans have given me no issues, besides having to assemble the housing and mounting brackets, (these fans were an xmas present, I also had been using the cheapest vivosun or whatever fans I could find and they would get loud, especially since I mount them to the ceiling framing so if they vibrate excessively you could hear it upstairs sometimes.) Anyway you could probably do better for cheaper, but its been almost 5 months in on this grow and so far the AC infinity in-lines have done well (although I would expect any half decent fan to last 5 months, but I'm thinking these will hopefully go the distance.) At the very least its been producing decent results so far, although I've still got a few weeks to go. Hope this helped mate, and best of luck on your grows.
I run a 4 inch terrabloom in my 3x3. Was a good price and has been running pretty much nonstop for almost 4 years.
That sounds good, run non-stop for that many years, I will look into what I have read from post, thanks for the replies.
