Excellent Odor Control

  1. I have the DIY Ona bucket thing I made off here and it does work well and very cheap to make. Today I set up my humidifier on the other side of my house and was reading the back of the Ona concentrate bottle and it said can be used in humidifiers...50 to 1 ratio.

So i put some in cranked it on and wow what a great odor control device. Yes its a little more involved since my tank lasts only 24 hours but you don't have to add much concentrate to it and like now my whole living room, dinning room, and kitchen smell excellent.

My DIY Ona Bucket is in my bathroom where my grow tent is so I keep the door closed along with having my bathroom fan on. Also have a carbon filter in my tent.

I def will be using this along with my other odor control tools. Highly suggested.

  2. Thanks, good info. Made my ONA bucket, just need to get some ONA now, not seen it here in the UK yet, oh well i'll keep looking.

  3. Most likely have to mail order it

  4. Nice I will buy some liquid for my grow.

  5. I wonder if you could add this into a swamp cooler just as well.

  6. I would imagine you could. 50 to 1 ratio is not alot. It probably would not hurt anything.

  7. Swamp cooler seems like a great idea. Only you have to climb on your roof to change the solution once in a while

  8. got my ONA the other day at the hydro store (quart for $20). When I flip to flower I am going to make my bucket. Got my cpu fan, bucket, soil moist, and water ready to go

  9. Your looking at $40 to secure a small grow with odor control. Multiply that by a few grows and you might as well buy an inline fan and carbon filter. I tried the Ona route. Last 1 grow with 2 plants. Now I go can filter. Haven't changed it in 4 harvests and over 50 plants.

  10. what are you, a mind reader??? get out of my head, lol!!! i'm in the s.w. and that's what is used here instead of refrigerated air. i can't see any reason why it wouldn't work well...

  11. This ^^^

It may cost more upfront for a nice fan and filter, but You will get a lot out of it , and also you dont have the headache of refilling your ONA all the time.
Plus the added benefits of temp and humidity control of a fan.

  12. It all boils down to what people like and what they can make work for them. Some people need to get a fan/filter for their grow because the mechanics of the bucket don't make sense to them. That's understandable. Many people don't like to change what they think is the right way to do things so I've had to deal with a lot of people hating my bucket idea. The hate PMs are a dime a dozen apparently. The funny part is the people who try it love it and swear they'll never go back.

A lot of factors come into play like the room you're growing in. Is it airtight or close to being so? Is it a big room or closet size? Is it a tent? If it's a big open room a single filter won't do much good like I learned. I HAD to do something drastic. It was either make a huge filter or a bucket.

My O.N.A bucket completely takes care of the smell from 5 flowering plants. I haven't had to drill any holes in my walls or set up any ventilation. I pay $20 per quart of O.N.A every 4 months. The three pieces of equipment I have are a fan, O.N.A bucket, and my HPS light. I stopped using my can filter because it really did next to nothing in the room I need to keep odor free. It made too much noise as well.

The smarter people are the ones that use multiple stages of odor control. Just because you can't smell something doesn't mean other non-smokers can't. I recommend a can filter, O.N.A bucket, and anything else you can throw at your odor problem. Some people need to hide their grow more then others. =)
