examples of small hydro set ups?

this is my first post, followed soon by my first grow. i'm looking to make a small (2-4 plants) set up for the spare room in my house, and after browsing several sites and viewing lots of pics i thought i'd ask the experts if you could shed some light and maybe a few pics or diagrams on the matter?
